Yes, I think it's standard practice in some behaviour therapy anyway to introduce the hated thing slowly, easily, with care - spiders or whatever it might be.

Is there value in doing this, or should i just leave well enough alone and simply enjoy the happiness that i have now?  i would appreciate hearing from others who have dealt with similar issues.

what you are describing sounds a lot like de-sensitizing treatment. exposing someone to very low doses of the cause of an allergy, and slowly increasing dosage does relieve sympthoms, at least temporarily. on the other hand, feeding small ammounts of sugar to a diabethic does nothing to help his affliction.

if you are into that kind of medical kink, you are more than free to experiment.
