For those who are still just reading the talking points emails, and think having the IRS used to target political enemies is all cool and justified, let us let the Cronkite of the millenial douchebags explain it. Here's Jon Stewart.

"The IRS scandal for dummies"

Projecting much?

TheHeretic -> RE: The IRS scandal for dummies (5/14/2013 6:58:42 PM)

But hey, there's nothing for anyone of the lefter leaning persuasions to worry about. The mainstream media thinks President Obama's balls drip nectar. They'll shield his administrations ass on anything, right?

quote:

Washington Post:More than four dozen media organizations joined forces Tuesday to sharply rebuke the Justice Department for secretly gathering the phone records of Associated Press journalists, calling on the department to promptly return the records and disclose all other pending subpoenas related to the news media.

As Mr. Stewart so elegantly phrased it, MOTHERFUCKER!

Owner59 -> RE: The IRS scandal for dummies (5/14/2013 7:17:30 PM)

When a president lies/tricks us into getting thousands Americans killed(something real).....then I`ll start worrying.

If the rightist didn`t over react like screaming children......then I`d start worrying.

If the president directed the irs attack his political opponents like your favorite rightist prez-tricky-dick did......then I`d start worrying.

So....what is the right going to do? Something unprecedented........... like calling the President hitler, marx or stalin?[:D]

jlf1961 -> RE: The IRS scandal for dummies (5/14/2013 7:18:38 PM)

Uh, why was there not a big fuss about the Bush Administration having the IRS check out the NAACP? I guess that was alright.

Owner59 -> RE: The IRS scandal for dummies (5/14/2013 7:23:22 PM)

Cuz they knew their voters wouldn`t give a shit......or even cheer with enthusiastic applause.

Great thing about this story is no one (important) is going to give a shit about carl rove or glen beck.

And this dopey nit-witted move by rightists to pronounce that all are harmed when even one citizen`s rights are harmed will ring a bit hollow....considering they`ve been doing nothing but taking other people`s rights away.......voter suppression being one example.

You might want to familiarize yourself with the latest word, Jlf. The President has now offered his comment on the situation.

Obama demands punishment for IRS staff who targeted conservatives

I bet the flying 180s are going to be fun to watch.

Owner59 -> RE: The IRS scandal for dummies (5/14/2013 7:45:31 PM)

The President is also very sorry about this......[8D]

I like Jon Stewart and have for quite some time. I was soooo happy when he replaced Kinear.

He is one of the few (what I would consider) lefties that doesn't seem to position himself in the "My-side-is-always-right" camp and this bit was some funny stuff, I don't care who you are.

Thanks for posting it, Rich.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Have any of the Non-profits begging for special tax subsidies from us taxpayers actually been DENIED the special benefits they sought on my dime?

June 29, 2011:

IRS staffers held a briefing with senior agency official Lois G. Lerner in which they described giving special attention to instances where “statements in the case file criticize how the country is being run.” Lerner, who oversees tax-exempt groups for the agency, raised objections and the agency revised its criteria a week later.

Jan. 15, 2012:

[T]he agency decided to target “political action type organizations involved in limiting/expanding Government, educating on the Constitution and Bill of Rights, social economic reform movement.,”

May 17, 2012:

[T]he IRS again updated its criteria to focus on “organizations with indicators of significant amounts of political campaign intervention (raising questions as to exempt purpose and/or excess private benefit.)”

So, why the outrage?
