On a more serious note, I wonder if there's any mechanical advantage to that as a propulsion scheme? Cute video though, although it took a brutally long time to load on my elderly laptop.

I'm with RS on this one.

It's fine if they can swim quite well.
But I can see someone who is not such a good swimmer drowning themselves due to the lack of freedom of movement.

Just one accidental death, or near death experience, and they'd be calling them off the market as dangerous pool items.
In a lot of UK public pools you aren't even allowed to wear normal flippers let alone something like this.
