This thread reminds me of a scene in Big Bang Theory, where Amy Farrah Fowler seeks to land Sheldon by indulging him in his Star Trek fantasies. Leonard walks in and Amy is standing there in full ST medical uniform over Sheldon on the couch. Leonard> "What are you doing?" Amy> "We're playing doctor... Star Trek style..." I looked over my daughter's Netflix collection. No ST but she has Doctor Who, Firefly (including the movie), Torchwood...I feel that my geekiness has grown. Will ask her to DL ST movies (the ones from the 80s and 90s) and the entire ST series.

I have to admit I've never seen Firefly. However I did dress up as an Orion slave girl for a Halloween party freshman year of college. Green make up. And since it was a frat party, I was sensible enough to stay cold stone sober.

What is Firefly? I assume we are not talking about the bugs that come out during the summer that light up, huh? And, I am trying to watch this Dr Who marathon on BBC (MN is on his way up..thought be a nice surprise if I had a clue)...but, there is a Raiders of the Lost Ark marathon on and...Harrison Ford is a much better...actor!

Primary Sub had never seen Firefly when we met less than one year ago. She has since watched the entire series with me twice, and three times on her own. Plus Serenity too many times to count. I showed her the reboot ST on Saturday, then we went to see Darkness; I told her the Red Shirt Mandate during a scene that paid homage to it. She replied-- "Oh; you have to watch the latest Big Bang Theory episode-- that joke makes sense to me now." I do love this girl.
