Did not win, but Mom mentioned getting a couple of horses, about 25 acres of land, getting a house built that allowed for wheelchairs (we live in a small trailer), trust funds for the kiddos (grandkids), help pay off the houses for my brothers and the same for the cars. I would ask for a million and get a house in Austin for Lizard and her dad to live in (with gas...Bo is a former chef).

I didn't buy a ticket this week. I don't play the lottery often. If the jackpot gets really high (like over $300M) and I am out and about and think about it I might purchase a ticket when I am filling up the automobile. If I won I would retire to Savannah, Georgia. I think it's one of the most enchanting places on Earth. I would buy Mercer House and live there. As far as charities go I would contribute to St Jude's Children's Hospital and to local animal shelters. I'd probably make a few very public donations to the NRA since it pisses off all the right people. What good is all that cash if you cannot use it to piss people off?

I didn't buy a ticket, but if I did, and if I'd won...

I'd pay off my student loan debt first, and probably my sister's, too (my brother doesn't have any, I believe, but if he does, I'll get him, too). Then I'd buy some property and a little bit nicer of a car, build a house, that sort of thing.

But that would only cover a couple million at the most (I've got a lot of student loans). So with the rest of it, I'd try to set up some sort of foundation. I'm not sure what it would be yet...something to provide legal assistance to certain types of people (as in "not assholes"...and yes, I'm making the judgment call on that) who can't afford it, or perhaps something to do with educating kids.

We would pay off the debts of our family members and our own, help the needy, have 2 homes built (primary residence in Vermont so we'd have single-payer health care, vacation home in San Francisco), new vehicles, clothes, furniture, etc., invest the rest, and live off the interest.
