ORIGINAL: DaddySatyr I almost never watch TV but I'm bored and just waiting on leaving for work. Anyway, I wasn't exactly paying attention but I caught a commercial for a new movie entitled: "The Purge". Apparently, there's a society where they get a "free pass" for breaking ANY law for 12 hours, once per year (I think. I might be lost here). Even if I have the premise wrong, let's go with that because it got me thinking: If there was a "freebie" given to you, is there any crime that you would commit? I've been thinking about it and I'm not sure there is (other than the little things we violate, every day speed limits, maybe littering?) for me but, I have to admit that my mind flashed on "bank robbery" or "bank hacking" with the intent of making off with their money but the thoughts were fleeting. What say you? If the powers-that-be said you'd never be held accountable and you had 12 hours to just run amock. Would you do it? What crime(s) would you commit? Thanks for your thoughts. Peace and comfort, Michael The premise of the movie is that society evolved to perfection, no war, no crime, etc, because for one day everyone gets to cut loose and kill, murder, burn. Based on the theory that we as a society have crime because the more we suppress a thing, the more it goes out of control. If you let that urge out, it won't explode out. Of course, the movie is an extreme take on that theory
