Does every comment I make, including those on friend's pages, and community pages, show up in my other friends newsfeeds? I know just liking a post doesn't.

I honestly didn't know, so I went and checked. A comment I made to my son's girlfriend doesn't show up on his post, but then neither does her post. In the past, though, I have commented on a friend's post and I know I see all the other people's comments, even though they are not my friends.

I think there is a setting for who you want to see your comments, but I honestly don't know.

In settings, you can choose who sees your posts. Friends, friends of friends, or everyone.

Thanks ladies. It seems inconsistent, like LL said.

I don't want to "spam" my friends with shit they're not interested in, and also, due to work issues, I'm considering deleting the account. Just pondering...

Well, one thing I DO know is you can control what posts of others YOU see. You can even keep someone as a "friend," but never see their posts at all (I have a few people I've done that with).

I can never keep with Facebook's changes.
Sometimes I see others' comments on others' posts, and sometimes I can't. I used to be able to hide some posts, but now that option appears to have been taken away from my app.

I've tossed around the idea of deleting my account. Mostly because some people just seem to enjoy creating drama.

Can you hide your friend's list and your groups?

Beats the hell out of me, lol.

I rarely post on facebook, although I have been commenting lately on friend's post. I share recipes, and the only reason I don't make it that they are "shared" only with myself is that friends have asked me to keep posting them to all.

I have my settings set that only people who are in my friend's list can see my posts, and I never took the time to fiddle with all the seemingly endless privacy settings they have.

Oh, you can hide friends...if you have a big enough crawlspace...

Sure you can!

Hover your cursor over their name. A drop down type thing will happen.

While that is still open, hover your cursor over "friends." Another drop down will open.

Move your cursor to "Show in News Feed."

Here you can simply uncheck the "show in news feed," and you will see nothing that they post. You will still be friends and can check their page and timeline whenever you like.

If you prefer you can instead check the "settings" and choose what you want to show up in your feed.

Easy peasy.

If you want to know anything else about facebook.....ask someone else! You have officially exhausted my entire knowledge base on how to navigate the damn thing.

This. I have some posts set for everyone, others for friends, some private, some friends of friends. My daughter can see everything so she gets to see when I say something to one of my friends about her.

Payback is a bitch when your children become adults.

ETA: I think the only reason my daughter doesn't hide me is because she wants to keep track of what I tell people. hehe

My son won't even "friend" me on his facebook! He hasn't blocked me though. He knows I pop over to his page regularly. Of course, his girlfriend friended me, so she sees whatever I post and naturally would tell him. But I don't post those kinds of things anyway, so there would be nothing to tell. I just tell them in person.
