Rubber bands can leave some nasty looking welts/bruises! I am wondering and hoping that no permanent marks can be left to the inside of the thigh. I was playing with my gf last night and didn't realize how easily bruised her inner thighs become. 5 or so minutes after play, she had the gnarliest welts/lines where I had snapped the rubber bands (fairly intensely!). I have had them applied similarly to me and no bruising on that level. Will they completely vanish? I hope i didn't cause any permanent scars.

Different people have a different propensity to bruise - so testing on yourself doesn't always tell you what might happen to someone else. Thighs, generally speaking, bruise more easily than other body parts (at least in my experience). If they truly are bruises they should not result in permanent scars. I would recommend Arncia gel (available in health food type stores) to help the bruises fade faster. Do be aware, however, that causing repeated bruising in the same area can lead to other damage (scarring or nerve damage). Just be mindful of how your partner feels about bruises especially on certain parts of their body. Depending on time of year (summer, etc.) or one's profession, etc. one might not want to be going around with nasty bruises in any visible areas. Please play safely.

p.s. I am speaking only of bruising. If you cut/break open skin you are talking about something else entirely.

Probably not. But if she is extremely light skinned or has sensitive skin it could. I have some permanent marks on my body just from Master pinching me.

It really does depend on the person and how they heal and their skin type, etc...

Thanks for your response. Yeah these were just bruises, no broken skin. I have played with rubber bands many times before and was just shocked at the intense reaction she had to them! ahhhh. I was much more bothered by it than she was (she seemed to like it), but I wasn't really comfortable with having caused such intense bruising that can be seen when wearing shorts.

Littlewonder... from Pinching?!! aah that's insane. Was skin broken by these pinches?? It seems that skin would need to break in order for a scar to be left no?

littlewonder -> RE: Rubber Bands and Bruising (5/22/2013 5:37:38 PM)

eehh...if she's not bothered, then don't worry about it. Master used to be a little concerned at one time but I never cared. We've been together for years now so it doesn't really bother him anymore.

She has mentioned before that she doesn't want any permanent marks though... I assured her that the rubber band marks would not be as no skin was broken. I have never heard or seen permanent rubber band markings but these looked gnarly.

fucktoyprincess -> RE: Rubber Bands and Bruising (5/22/2013 6:27:39 PM)

Get the Arnica gel for her - it will make a nice gift. And trust me, it works wonders even on gnarly looking bruises. Wait for a few days and see how they heal. And then just use the knowledge of what happened here to guide you the next time. I would be surprised if these didn't fade, especially on the thigh. Play safe.

littlewonder -> RE: Rubber Bands and Bruising (5/22/2013 6:31:23 PM)

Is she prone to permanent marks? Meaning, when she gets a tiny little cut, does it leave a scar? When she bumps into something, does it leave a bit of a permanent bruise or broken spider veins? Indentations where the blow was? I know I'm prone to all of these because of my skin type. I don't know how long you two have known each other to know this kind of information. If not long, then you may want to lighten up a bit if you both are not wanting bruises.

AthenaSurrenders -> RE: Rubber Bands and Bruising (5/23/2013 5:59:08 AM)

She's not allergic to rubber or latex is she?

I'm sure you wouldn't be playing with rubber if you knew she was allergic to it, but some people can be mildly sensitive to it and it can cause irritation, soreness, and raised red marks from contact with the skin. If the marks are much worse than you expected it might be the combination of the impact and the material. Having a rubber band round my wrist leaves me with welt-like marks even without the play.

How does she get on with condoms? Don't answer that, just a thought though.

toothbrush915 -> RE: Rubber Bands and Bruising (5/23/2013 9:07:46 PM)

definitely not allergic to latex. I'm going to buy her some Arnica Gel. They already look better but since she bruises so easily, it'll be a good thing to have on hand.

It's absolutely possible to get a scar (mine look like a dark patch just underneath the skin surface) from simple bruises where no skin was broken. In order for anything to bruise, you have to break some small bloodvessels, and those break because flesh is torn. Even if the skin isn't.

With that said, it's not how much something has bruised that decides if it will scar or not. I'have a really stupid scar on the side of my elbow, from a small bruise, completely ridiculous. While other parts of my body had been bruised until black, and that didn't scar at all.

Nowadays i use a cream with Mukopolysackaridpolysulfat, called Hirudoid, that dissolves the bloodclots in bruises, and make them heal faster. I'm not sure if it exists in the US, but it makes a bruise heal on avarage 2-3 days faster. Anyone know of an equivalent, maybe?

I just checked and this can be ordered from Amazon, so yes it's available in the US. I'll have to give this a shot. We usually use Arnica, but if this works better.

littlewonder -> RE: Rubber Bands and Bruising (5/24/2013 4:22:43 PM)

Nope, no broken skin...just permanent scarring just from a simple pinch. Sometimes the bruise will basically heal but I will be left with a tiny black mark under my skin or a very small hematoma that just isn't going away.

Then again, it could be the way Master pinches. He's a sadist. His pinches are not like the tiny pinches others give and he has these fingernails he likes to dig in with so I can't squirm away easily. They aren't nice and quick pinches. They go on and on and on until he decides to pick another spot to start all over again.[&:]

But I also have permanent scars just from bumping into stuff. I'm a complete klutz. I mean I consider myself Queen of Klutzes.

If I may hijack this thread for a moment ...

Can someone comment on any bruising on breast bruising? I have not yet gone that far with rubbber bands, but it may come about in the future based on the pics I have seen others post in their profiles. Would either of the recommended creams above be safe on the breast? Not a hucow situation ... just as breast torture play.

Thanks in advance for all comments.

I get bruises on my breasts from love bites.
They are done as a way of temporary marking that which is His.

If these are not places that are going to be seen by the general public, (and breasts usually aren't) why would one need to cream to help dissipate it?

littlewonder -> RE: Rubber Bands and Bruising (5/27/2013 6:37:25 PM)

I'm gonna guess she is not exactly single

Not everyone enjoys marking, or being marked. Some that work out in gyms with shared showers don't want to have bruises all over for others to see. Some prefer fresh canvas when they play, and the bruises to be healed over before doing any impact play. And lastly, some people bruise easily and have bruises that stay for longer than usual.

I think of bruises as just a side-effect from impact play, and not something desirable in itself. Don't like the look, don't like the feel.
