Ron, I grew up nearly spitting distance from the Allis-Chalmers plant, and I still remember watching those beauties (c. 1964 or so) roll out of West Allis around the world. And this was ALLIS-CHALMERS, no effing Eye-talian "Fiat Allis". I also remember watching Ramblers leave the AMC plant (Sigh). But I'm all over John Deere, and yes, I have an incredible weakness for the 30s Farmalls -- with the sleek streamlined cowling? Bought my first tractor when I was 22, living in a highrise apt in Downtown Chicago, and saw a beautiful, shiny (RED) of course Farmall A at a swap meet...$600 later, I towed it to my fancy-ass urban condo parking garage and parked it in one of my spaces...I think I gave up $2400 in rent in that first year just to have it there. They flourished for a while at various family spreads...but now they are all in storage, and I have to decide what to do with 'em. And while I'm not a farmer, and currently don't own much more than my little plot of land in suburban Chicago, I've spent 14 hours bouncing above one of those BRRRUP---BRRRUP cycle engines clearing brush with my brother, or my father-in-law. You know what Ron (whispers) A young guy spends 14 hours on a hard-sprung tractor, and finds out that 1. his dingus don't work for a day after and worse 2. He aches so much HE DOESN'T CARE. OUCH. E.

"When you wake up, Pooh," said Piglet, "what's the first thing you say?" "What's for breakfast? What do you say, Piglet?" "I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?" Pooh nodded thoughtfully. "It's the same thing," he said.
