I take your point that some might have ulterior motives when posting on the message boards.
For myself, I can compartmentalize the two activities, my journey & having fun. like you, I have no idea, who might be reading this (any future partner, or no), although I have an idea of 'the usual suspects' [:)]. Personally, I like the message boards, because you can have some friendly chit chat with people on many subjects, kink & vanilla, in a non threatening environment. If someone special is reading this, that's even better [:D]!

I have an ulterior motive, I just say what I want whether agreeable or not![:D]

I am not looking for anything, so I just fly by the seat of my pants, but if I was it wouldn't change a thing. Still the same ole me.

Some will love you, some will hate you, some don't give a flying ****, some base the past on the present, some look at the present......

I don't look at a persons post history, I guess I might if I needed a good reason too, but other then that, I take their posts as what they are in the present, cause to me basically this is a learning forum, and with knowledge comes change. I also try to put myself in the persons shoes, try to understand their position, and why they may be posting as they do.

I personally find forum postings to be helpful along with a profile. A profile tends to be crafted, nuanced like a master artist showing their masterpiece or a PhD student putting together a dissertation. A forum post, on the other hand, tends to be much more off the cuff, like a blues guitarist jamming with a backing band or a politician receiving a surprise question in an interview. You can tell much more about that person, and I think it can serve as a comparison to their profile, and see if their words match their actions, so to speak.

I agree with you entirely, the only proviso I would make, is not to be needlessly aggressive or offensive, otherwise, anything goes.

Certainly there are those who have little to no intellect to show (my fellow male sub's profiles on here tend to crack me up), but I was speaking mostly of the profiles I find attractive. However it seems that the inability to spell or put together a grammatically correct sentence is largely a universal problem [:D]

Ahh, well typos happen. However, when one cannot spell basic words such as "what" or "right", I have trouble taking that person seriously(and I suspect others do as well).

Ah well, just as we recommend skipping over the findomme profile to disgruntled whiners, so I do with ridiculously written profiles.

I think it is useless, personally. I don't believe that I have ever been so pressed for time with a response to such an urgent message as to actually use it.

Some of the youngsters at work have tried to teach me it, I just go WTF!
