Certainly. I don't normally have it around the house because I don't drink much regularly (and to keep it away from the boy), but I've been known to fetch bottles of things to share with a visitor, if it's to their tastes.

What's yer poison?

I too am "chopped lumber" . But it is ok...I do not have even HALF the stories most of the populars...plus I don't mind keeping my CollarChat dinner party to just me and one other particular poster.

Well there are actually friends on CM that have an open invitation to my home, even some I disagree with politically, dont mean they aint friends. It just means I have to provide a kosher menu, a vegan menu, a carnivore menu, and have to spend about 3 grand and refreshments, if they were to all show up at the same time.

Would probably have to hire a bartender as well.

Hmm Chivas Regal isn't too bad, but if your supplying the venue for a evening of admiring swords and poetry, enjoying some entertaining repartee over a meal, perhaps winding down to a game of chess and conversation in the company of CM people, while contemplating the properties of a respectably smooth, aged spirit... Then what sort of guest would I be if I failed to bring a bottle (or three) as a gift!?

By the way I've never been to a dinner party like that, but it sounds fabulous!
Dress code?

Dress code? What the heck is that? Come as you are. Clothes are overrated, and distracting, anyhow. If you wanna dress up feel free, but nothing's enforced.

I'm gonna jump past all the great new and old forum members that are still with us and strictly list a few retired authors that come to mind.

CreativeDominant
Dnomyar
LuckyAlbatross
CalifChick
HerLord
SteelofUtah
IronBear

Way to make a list and avoid leaving anyone out, lol. I forgot all about IronBear. Probably one of the only Gorean followers that I actually really liked and respected.

Ya' got me. I though I was gonna' dodge any bullets and pull that one off avoiding all current politics by using a blast from past.

Well, Given the right smoker set up, and an ample supply of mesquite and hickory I could take care of doing a few hundred pounds of Beef Brisket.

As for bar stocks,

I have done some research, and considering the discriminating tastes of CM users, I will have to revise my estimate of the cost of stocking the bar.

Conservatively speaking, I would say, for an event of this importance, the bar stock will cost around 2.5 million bucks, since some of the spirits run around $3000 a bottle or higher. Only the best for our bunch you know. That does not take into consideration that the best bottle of scotch recently went for $340,000 at auction.

Has anyone discussed a venue?

As for attendees tending bar, that just wont work, we have to hire a few bartenders and waitresses (in proper attired of course) for such an event.

What about goodie bags for the guests?
