Freedomdwarf I think they said "capricious use of the system" to you because you were spending days at a time, browsing profiles and reporting them, totally overwhelming the mods ability to mod other stuff.

I can't find the thread from my iPhone right now, but I recall the argument and it being explained to you.

I spent two hours an afternoon for two days doing the reporting.
It wasn't days at a time.
I was just browsing photos using the 'Browse Photos' button and in no particular hurry.
The moment I received the gold letter, I stopped.

If they think it is capricious use of the system then it should have a built-in limitation or a note somewhere that it shouldn't be used for X number of reports per day.
I just followed what the system is in place for.
It's not my fault that they have something that they can't cope with.

And I don't believe it was 'totally overwhelming the mods' either.
Just one person could have dealt with my postings very easily and much faster than I posted them.
Sorry, that's just another cop-out.

Actually no, the cop-out is expecting other people to do all the work for you in this, the 21st century. You already admitted you took the time and effort to browse the photos looking for "violations". And you claim it should be easy for the mods because it is only one person. My friend, imagine if only 3% of the active members of this site did what you did every day. Spend just two hours browsing the photos, reporting any and all they "feel" were violations. Now lets say there were oh, I dunno 50,000 active members (we all know that number is much higher, but hell its a nice round number). 3% is 1500 emails a day my friend. All would have to be sorted, checked, and evaluated before the next days 1500 rolled in. Now do you think one person could do that, or WANT to do that?? FUCK NO. In this, the age of digital freedom and internet accessibility, it is all on you Mr. Dwarf to solve your own problems. If you think there is a "violation", you find out if its true. This website covers itself pretty well in the ToS mainly for the reasons I gave you above

ignore, delete and stop thinking you need to rescue people from scammers. People are responsible for their own stupidity.

What changed your mind since January?

quote:

yeah Pam, when it comes to someone being a pedo, I'm gonna call a pedo a pedo and not rely on the authorities to come along and take care of it. It's no different than in real life. If someone around me comes out as a pedo, I'm gonna take care of it first before I call the authorities because that's just how much of a sick fuck they are.

http://www.collarchat.com/m_4334039/mpage_21/tm.htm

I have a child and while she's grown now, I'm still gonna call out a pedo. Anything else though, I simply don't care. If you tell me you killed someone I'm not gonna care. If you tell me you raped some woman I'm not gonna care. If however, you tell me you are a pedo and start sending me photos of children, I'm gonna make sure your ass lands in jail.

But to be worried over a scammer online? LOL. I just find that funny and so not worth the hassle.

Yet in this thread you said,

"Overall, over the whole 3 or 4 days, (4 days on one account, 3 days on another), yes, there were literally hundreds. I guess I reported close on 300 pics in all"

Reporting 300 pics in 3-4 days (this constitutes "days at a time" btw) can indeed be overwhelming to the recipient. As you said in that thread, you were reporting 60-80 pictures a day.

I looked it up because based on what you said here, I thought I was remembering it wrong. I wasn't.

Dude...you know how 6 year-old that sounds, right?

Oh. Because you "calling out" a pedophile online before notifying law enforcement somehow...helps children?

I see.

Thank you for finding this!
I was referring to this before.

Dude,

My experience with police when it comes to rapes, pedos and murders, are basically useless. The only thing I've ever seen cops rush to take care of are those who are speeding, dealing or caught with drugs and those who kill or maim a fellow policeman.

Maybe there's something I'm missing. This is how I understand your posts:

- If you encounter someone who is a pedophile online, you will respond by posting about that person on a message board, or berating them, or....some other act (?), wherein your action is somehow heroic and accomplishes...something(?). This something(?) being somehow more useful than notifying the authorities.

- If you encounter anything other than pedophilia, you will not do what you would do if you encounter a pedophile.

If I misunderstood, I apologize, and would appreciate anything you could do to explain your position to me.

My big questions: how is the first instance at all different from how everyone behaves, all the time, on Internet message boards? What could it possibly accomplish? And in order to do the second one, wouldn't your action just be...not participating in that thread/room/web at all?

Yup, I would call them out for what they are...the lowest of the lowest on the planet. I don't see it as heroic or saving anyone. I see it as just making sure the person gets what's coming to him/her. I loathe such people and have no qualms whatsoever to anything at all that happens to them. They are free game as far as I'm concerned. They don't deserve anything else at all. And if I could somehow find out they are close to where I live, I would make sure that others in the community who have children are made aware of his/her living there. Like I said, I have zero sympathy for pedos.

Anything else other than pedo, I just don't care about. It's not hurting me or anyone I know and doesn't affect me in any way whatsoever. Pedo has in the past and thus why I loathe such people and find them despicable. Anyone else just doesn't even register on my radar.

Now if you still don't get it then I can't help you. I'm thinking you don't have children or ever been molested as a child. If I'm wrong, my apologies.

When the "photo" still has the website name emblazened on it, yes, that would make it a DMCA violation.

Not if it's used with permission.

I know several people on CollarMe that are kink porn stars. Several of them had pics of shoots they did for kink.com with the kink.com logo posted on their profile WITH permission.

When you see that, you can assume that the pic is stolen and they are fake, but you'd be wrong.

Having a watermark on a pic does not mean it's stolen. It just makes it somewhat more likely.
