I add a little cocoa to the beans in the coffee grinder once in a while. Make it a cup at a time. I might use a bit of whipped cream on top. The whipped cream might be garnished with nutmeg.

Careful. It gets on your nose.

(The secret ingredient is whiskey.)

oh my, oh my.... add some irish cream....

I'm not interested in putting liquor in my coffee. Drinking just makes me sick and isn't enjoyable at all.

Coffee with Tia Maria was the first alcoholic drink I had outside of home. I remember my Dad letting me order it for after-dinner coffees in a restaurant as a teenager. I felt ever so sophisticated!

We were allowed to drink occasionally from a very young age,so drinking never felt mystical or special,or some great thing to experience , finally at 21.

Likewise, but I think we have a more relaxed culture about drinking over here.

I like the caramel mocha flavors:)

10 Cups Coffee (let cool)
1 (14 oz) can condensed milk
1 cup whole milk

Mix, chill and enjoy! It's a great base (and is good all by itself) but you can mix in any sort of flavoring you like and you will get much more product for a lot less money than Starbucks.

The biggest problem with this recipe is that it tastes so good you might not want to stop drinking it. [;)]

Thanks Bitatrrouble, and thanks every one!

We went out to the best Italian restaurant and I got the Tiramisu for desert. Coffee soaked cake with a cream icing. Oh god, yum.

Tiramisu is one of my favorite desserts. I was just telling Master yesterday that I should make some soon.

Bita, is the condensed milk sweetened or plain?

BitaTruble -> RE: homemade recipesc iced coffee can realistically match those shake and pour drinks in the dairy case (6/5/2013 11:11:43 PM)

Sweetened - I try to use Eagle but I've found that store brands do almost as good a job for a considerable savings. When Michael gets bonus though.. I buy the Eagle. ::grins::

I tried your coffee mix Bita and it was really tasty, I was pleasantly surprised. I blended a cup of it with half a cup of ice. Today I'm going to try it with some chocolate protein powder. I was concerned it would be very high calorie but mine worked out to 100 cals per serving which is likely much better than starbucks (though I did use 2% milk because that's what we had to hand).

I personally love flavored coffee..............don't care how much sugar is in them because I only drink them as a treat here and there. Heck they put a smile on my face and make me happy....they go along with my positive attitude these days. So for me I say ....drink up if you enjoy them and if they make you happy.

Coffee Already Has A Flavor!

coffee is meant to be b;lack. flavors disgust me

littlewonder -> RE: homemade recipesc iced coffee can realistically match those shake and pour drinks in the dairy case (6/6/2013 6:12:15 PM)

I used to love drinking coffee just black...no sugar, no cream. But then I ended up with stomach problems this past year and the only way I can drink coffee now is with creamer and a little splenda. Otherwise I end up with major heartburn and my stomach killing me.

cold brew for the win... then just add as much fat and sugar as your arteries can stand.

littlewonder -> RE: homemade recipesc iced coffee can realistically match those shake and pour drinks in the dairy case (6/6/2013 6:37:55 PM)

all this talk of coffee is going to kill me. [:(]

Master's on the warpath to cut my coffee again.
