Hi all. I'm interested in rope suspension especially the Shibari type Jappanese rope work. I want to do it safely but don't have any experience with this type of suspension. I'm pretty good with rope overall. Any tips or advice would be very appreciated. . Or even better would be a good seminar or instructional video.

Very good thread mnottertail. Lots of info. The horror stories are exactly why I want to go slow and learn first. (at least I am good with knots). Besides. Don't think my wife would be at all pleased if I screw up...

I highly recommend jumping into your local rope scene and picking up the following books:

- Two Knotty Boys Showing You The Ropes
- The Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage by Midori (she's amazing)

Also, if your on FL there's tons of great info there too. Don't just start with the "so and so dropped someone" shit - that's not the norm.
