Jeff's post gave me an idea to solve the debate once and for all (not really)

Should toilet paper be put on the roll over the top or under so it hangs nearer the wall?

jlf1961 -> RE: Over and under (5/30/2013 12:26:27 PM)

Toilet paper, paper towels go OVER, anything else is just plain dumb

ShaharThorne -> RE: Over and under (5/30/2013 12:40:53 PM)

Everything is to be over...any other way is grounds for punishment and that means taking care of Mom!

You forgot the option of: Which ever way your Master tells you to do it even if it's wrong! <-- I would choose that one

Over the top (am still training bo on this, lol, as he doesn't care and tends to have it come off the roll facing the wall instead of being nearer to my hand).

If someone has kitties who love to unroll toilet paper so that it becomes a huge pile on the floor, having it come off the spool facing the wall...will merely make it spin and spin while the paper stays on it, lol. Had to do this with two of my cats in the past dozen years (2 new adoptees) to foil their dastardly plans. [:D]

NuevaVida -> RE: Over and under (5/30/2013 2:03:03 PM)

Over, here. And I tried Under, to protect it from kitty and he STILL made confetti out of it, so Over it is, while keeping the bathroom door closed :)

calamitysandra -> RE: Over and under (5/30/2013 2:43:47 PM)

Under, as it works with our feline overlords.

needlesandpins -> RE: Over and under (5/30/2013 3:06:17 PM)

over here. it's unhygienic to have it against the wall so that the wall gets touched by careless people with dirty hands [:'(]

needles

JstAnotherSub -> RE: Over and under (5/30/2013 3:19:29 PM)

Under always.

MasterG2kTR -> RE: Over and under (5/30/2013 6:14:16 PM)

They are both over the top....the difference is near side/far side  [;)]

soul2share -> RE: Over and under (5/30/2013 8:38:46 PM)

Over, it's easier to find the tail in the dark. I'm fortunate in that none of my kittehs bother the roll ON the spindle....if it's on a shelf, well, there it's fair game!

LadyPact -> RE: Over and under (5/31/2013 1:37:32 AM)

Yep, it goes over. I had never considered the reason why. I was more in the camp of "as long as there is tp, I don't care" until somebody came up with an actual reason. A person that I knew who used to work in hotels told Me the same reason as Needles listed above. Since then, it goes over.

littleclip -> RE: Over and under (5/31/2013 5:06:48 PM)

i prefer it to be over but im just happy if it is there when needed

IT goes over in our house... largely because "he who must be obeyed" has better things to think about and it matters to Carol. I'm afraid the virtual death sentence (from having it touch the wall) of putting it under isn't enough to motivate me to care. Then again, I have this opinion that humans are a lot more resilient than we give ourselves credit for. I kiss dogs on the mouth too.

MasterCaneman -> RE: Over and under (6/2/2013 2:05:49 PM)

The touching the wall part is what my Dad told me as well. And he was the guy who'd change the rolls no matter where it was. Restaurants, bars, other people's houses, wherever. He even had a special set of keys to use on the locking ones. I still have that set, too. And yes, I picked up the habit, but not to that extreme. [;)]
