LyndaLust -> How long? (6/25/2006 10:04:31 PM)

I've been to one munch and will go to my second in about a week. I've had contact with some locals in Sacramento and Stockton, etc. How long until I may become invovled in the lifestyle and find a partner?[8|]

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking.

How long till you become invovled? Well, I'd say you're invovled already, if you've gone to munches and all that.

As to how long till you find a parter, well, gods only know. I mean, it's like any kind of dating, you find a partner when you meet a compatable partner.

(Also, you're local to me *waves* What kind of munches are you finding in Sac? Thus far, we've had...limited...success)

Sounds like you are already involved in the community. Are there any local public play parties you can attend? That might help, even if it's just to get a chance to see how others play and to talk to those in active relationships.

And never rush into anything, get to know the person you are going to play with first, make sure they are real and not leading you down a potentially dangerous garden path especially if you are going to explore SM.

Sounds like these gals have it covered. You're in. Just like vanillaland in a new town, you shop for what you want while getting to know your society. Find other subs to hang out with and go to the parties with and watch how the doms play that you might be interested in.

You're already involved in the lifestyle.

But wait 6 months before making a commitment to anyone.

Hi LyndaLust~~

Nice to meet you; I am a member of the Stockton group, but missed the last munch. I saw your post on our group list, and am glad you enjoyed yourself. Great people in that group, so, welcome. I look forward to meeting you. In response to your post, take it slow. Our group is always having private demos/parties and are wonderful about teaching all things related to this lifestyle. Why not volunteer for our work group? We are doing registration for Folsom Fringe..just ask. Get your feet wet at one of these, attend what you can..mingle, get to know others and let them get to know you.

I am sorry because I know this will sound mean but it worries me that you are asking a bunch of strangers on a message board to decided this for you. You do not need our permission.

You need to trust yourself and also realize that when you first are exposed to others , you can get a big rush of submissive feelings that can be hard to cope with. LA has written a bunch of posts about new submissive frenzy.

I really wish you well and will keep us updated!

As long as it takes for you to become comfortable in the role that you wish for yourself. Jumping into a relationship just for the sake of being in a relationship is taking the short cut to disaster. There's no hurry. Take your time and discover yourself first.

KarbonCopy -> RE: How long? (6/27/2006 10:25:06 AM)

nope 16 days after your first much you will meet your prospective partner.

after a trial of exactly 10 days from when you met, you will then decide whether you will work or not.

A contract will be made, and you will must be collared within 2 months of contract agreement or we will kick you out.\

I dont make the rules, I just break em. sorry.

akisha -> RE: How long? (6/27/2006 12:41:15 PM)

LOL Karbon You're so mean

OP - You can be active in the lifestyle for years and never find a partner or you could luck out and find Mr or Miss Perfect with in a couple weeks. Finding a partner here is no different then finding one in any other venue of life.

I have been looking for "my" Master for 15 years. But I have had relationships during. Don't quit living just because you're looking.

lanwolf -> RE: How long? (6/28/2006 2:29:32 PM)

The best way to find the right One for you is to not activly look, at least thats what i keep getting told. Keep going out to munchies and local events, be yourself, ask questions and learn. When you are not looking for something it finds you faster and usually with better results. The main thing is have fun

babysburnin -> RE: How long? (6/28/2006 5:57:51 PM)

How long does it take anyone to find a meaningful relationship?  Just because you've "identified" yourself with a group does not guarantee a connection.

CrappyDom -> RE: How long? (6/28/2006 6:29:24 PM)

Lynda,

I belong to a couple of the groups here in Sacramento, they are all full of interesting people.  Unfortunately, TVs have probably the hardest time in the public scene and you are in for a rough ride.  People will be nice and friendly and Sindulgences.com will be the most likely place you might find someone, however the number of dominants looking for a TV are pretty few, at least in public.

If you see me, please come up and introduce yourself as I do attend some of the events.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me here or privately.
