Now I'm going to watch it for the first time to see if it's any good.  My lawyers will be contacting you if it's not.

KatyLied -> RE: Amazing Day! (7/21/2006 11:42:05 AM)

But, but, you've already missed Landis' stage of the century.  sigh.  Tomorrow is time trials, so tune in near the end, that's all you need to watch.

The Tour ends on Sunday.

Amazing day might not be so amazing after all   :/

Landis gives positive drugs test

It'll be interesting to see the results of the second sample test.

You beat me to it Stef.  If it's all true, after the second blood test.  This will be a huge fall from grace.
This was my first experience with Le Tour and I really enjoyed reading about the riders and the race.  And I was all about Floyd.  sigh.

[:(]

Alumbrado -> RE: Amazing Day! (7/27/2006 8:06:43 AM)

Landis who?

happypervert -> RE: Amazing Day! (7/27/2006 4:49:33 PM)

What is interesting is that he didn't test for having a testosterone level that's too high  -- it is the ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone that is too high. I heard a reporter on tv say his his testosterone is actually low, but the other is REALLY low.

Here's an article describing it a bit more, and also saying that an endocrine test may show there's nothing fishy going on except with Floyd's natural hormone production:

Of course, now that this preliminary result has been sensationalized, I doubt anyone will hear it if it turns out that Floyd is eventually cleared here.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Le Tour! (7/28/2006 5:35:53 AM)

Of course, Lance Armstrong was TOTALLY innocent and would NEVER have done anything like that...

stef -> RE: Le Tour! (7/28/2006 7:40:26 AM)

Lam, you better give Ant back his brain before he needs it for something.

Am I the only one to think that you couldn't compete in this event without being on drugs?

Anyone who is reasonably fit and has cycled through France in 35 degree heat must come to the conclusion that what the cyclists do is the toughest of all sports and one has to be somewhat above being an ordinary human being.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Le Tour! (7/28/2006 4:11:48 PM)

No, at this point I'm convinced that if Lance Armstrong really is "innocent," he'd be the only professional cyclist in the world who wasn't doping.

I'd love to have a medical understanding of how much drugs can boost performance.  I mean, can they turn an ordinary cyclist into a supercyclist or are they just a minor boost?
