The reason they don't eat them, is that they haven't figured out where the dog (cat) food is!

They will either stop bringing you the "gifts" or bring you more because they like the special food they get. It could save a lot on pet food!

In the wild a dog will bring "gifts" to the pack leader to show the leader their subservience to the leader, to show they know their place. Your dog is doing the same thing with you since you are now the "leader of the pack". You should be glad of this. She knows her place.
