I tried to be a nice man, you just wouldn't even understand Always felt I was held back by some invisible hand Someone new in my face to kick some new sand Can I spread some joy? What? It's not in demand? Then I'll store more and more from the rest while I can Ignorance is bliss? Maybe so for the wise Bushels of truth left untouched, billions choking on lies Why should I be the guy to shrivel up grow old and die When I've arrived at life's design and come alive in light's third eye? Peace be upon to all those who accept it For they are the ones who truly respect it But some minds are vile for an ego that lurks And hate to the sky all good deeds and good works For them there's no need for me to be nice Left up to them I can't have a good life So it's time to go, you get yours, I'll get mine And maybe we won't cross paths next lifetime When you get what you get, I won't care to blink twice And it's not 'cause I'm mean, 'cause I tried to be nice
