I wonder what color the sky is on b0bbysw0rld...

Gotta be plaid

Had the big "O" deal in the screen name had been little "oh" I'd have said paper plant color. We had a creeper in the Augusta area with the same screen name.

On the IP address thing, why doesn't anybody ever refer to what is listed on the "help" page of this site?

quote:

You would like us to "permanently" block a user from the website
We get this request a lot in regard to abusive users, spammers, scammers, and generally anyone who is disliked by the person writing in. Unfortunately preventing someone from making accounts on the website, while sounding like a very sensible idea to many users, is in reality a completely irrational concept in regard to today's Internet. To see why this is so, you must first understand that upwards of 96% of users browsing this (or any other) website are coming in from commodity broadband DSL and cable connections. In an effort to cut costs and reuse limited resources, Broadband Internet Service Providers (ISPs) long ago switched to using dynamic IP addresses for these connections which rotate frequently and can be changed effortlessly by the customer. Blocking one of these IP address would not achieve the objective of keeping the intended person off the site and would create confusion for the next innocent person who attempts to access the site with that assigned IP. Furthermore, because many ISPs such as AOL use "proxy" IP addresses, blocking one IP address in the hope of keeping a single user off of a website can unintentionally block hundreds of thousands of innocent users in seconds. Nevertheless, some websites continue to perpetuate the IP blocking myth by threatening to "permanently" block the IP address any user who dares to break their rules. This is purely a scare tactic rendered toothless by the realities today's broadband world or, as Shakespeare might say, sound and fury signifying nothing.

Edited to say, not really directed at you, ladies. Just the topic in general.

Because, since the fella there was speaking with such authority, I simply had to find out what he knew.... [;)]

Ok... ok... so I was needling a lil bit. I would suggest a spanking as a punishment... but you scare me.

I vote that we get the mods the software that will trace an offender down to their physical address so that a squad of Dommes and practical jokers can enter the home of the offender, the Dommes can put him or her through whatever torture they deem fit, and the practical jokers can make sure to replace all food products in the home with items in identical packaging but harmlessly doctored with ghost chili puree, or made to taste like shaving cream, or creamed spinach.

Alpha has dibs on my hide. Im not so sure I want her to be able to track me down to my physical address.

And before anyone questions if Master Dinnardin will allow that... the answer was

"I only need time to pop the popcorn".

Lady Pact, I respect you and your abilities, but I am not scared of you. I know you were referring to Tazzy...

Anyway reading your posts these last few years I have to say, should you find yourself in my neck of the woods, you are invited to a nice steak dinner.

LadyPact -> RE: fakes (6/23/2013 11:20:41 PM)

I'd absolutely take you up on that, Jeff. [:)]

Besides, if I thought it would do some good, and I could afford it, I would pay for you to come down for a visit, and I have often thought of going to alaska for a hunting trip, but just never seem to have the time, and when I have the time, I dont have the cash...

LadyPact -> RE: fakes (6/23/2013 11:52:04 PM)

Bah. I'll get there soon enough. After being here, every place in the lower 48 is close enough. Anything that doesn't involve going to the airport at 3:00 AM is within reach. I figure on raising hell about travel for a while once we get back where we belong.

Should you ever manage a trip up, do it for either the hunting or the Kinky Camp Out. If you've never lived here, those are the two instances that I would recommend. I don't know if you've ever had moose, elk, or bear. They are pretty good. Getting the meat back is something of a hassle and out of state license is pretty expensive. Still, it seems lots of people think it's worth the hassle.
