I was just mentioning this to another poster. It really is a small world.

You have to remember I lived in London where there are 12 million people. I am now 60 and found out yesterday my best mate from my teens and twenties passed away some 9 years ago. It threw me a bit as he was still youngish.

Anyhow, I was telling my mums cousin today and mentioned some old friends...... She gasped and got me to repeat the names. It seems her father, my great uncle, had a sister, who married into my friends family. So my great uncle was also there uncle by marriage.

This got me thinking about something I read not so long back. If you go through just SIX sets of inlaws, you will find you are related to just about everyone. Something Like that, I will try and find the link.

Adds link......... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_degrees_of_separation

My mother's forth husband was estranged from his sons all during their 5 year marriage. None of us ever met any of his sons until he was in the hospital during his last days--he died of liver cancer that metastasized throughout his body.

Anyway, there we say, my mom, my sisters and brother and I in the waiting room on afternoon when these guys, rather cute walk in and introduce themselves as my mom's stepsons.

And of them is a guy I had met 2 years before!!! I just never knew his last name.

He asked me to marry him 6 months later.

I was travelling from Arkansas to New Zealand, my baggage didn't make the trip with me, so in Auckland I had to make a claim. The two people in front of me were from..............(drumroll)............... Arkansas!

Of all things, they had won a radio contest to see Elton John in concert in the city I grew up it.
