I am getting ready for bed but thought of something while I was on the other side.

For some reason, I dislike the admirers list. To me, it is similar to asking someone to be a friend without any sayso. There are a few people who added their names without asking me about it. One guy even "friended" me without asking for my permission. I rejected him because he is from Europe and sent me no message. I prefer my admirers to be stateside and only if I accept their friend request.

Is there some way I can clean up the list? It even has my exe partner on there and I don't want him around me at all.

There was a big discussion about this a few years back.

No, you can't clean it up and no you have no choice if someone chooses to put you there.

No one can "friend" you without your permission, which you rejected, so you aren't on his "friends" list. No one but you and the person who "admired" you know that person has chosen to put you on his favorites.

People put others on their favorites list (that is what they used to call it) for many reasons. They may want to write to you but don't have the time at the moment, so they "favorite" you to make it easier to go back to your profile later. They may have read your journal and want to be able to go back, or your forum posts.

You could always write to them and ask them to stop admiring you, but I think you should be able to figure out how that will go over. If you ask three different people that, one will apologize and do so, one will take it as an invitation to write to you, and the other will call you names. All three, in my opinion, are correct and wrong at the same time.

There were those in the other post who likened it to "stalking" when it really isn't. It might just be their way of hoping you to take notice and write to them.

All in all, it isn't really that big of a deal.

There is no way to delete admirers that I'm aware of. Anyone can decide to be an admirer and there's nothing you can do.

You can click on their profile and hide them - you'll no longer see them.
I've done that many times, also blocking them at the same time so that they don't assume that me viewing them is showing likewise interest.

I've always used the favorites/admirers feature as a way to bookmark eye candy.

I thought if you blocked them, they could be on the admirers list.

Hide and block are two different things. I actually used the hide feature more than block, but now I kill two birds with one stone. The hide feature will remove them from your view, which means if they view you or add you on the admirer list, you won't see them. I've cleaned out my admirer list and have hidden the repeat viewers.
