jlf1961 -> Collarme has broken the time barrier! (6/13/2013 5:32:53 AM)

I have received messages from subs who live in towns that no longer exist, some havent existed since the mid 1800's. Collarme has figured out how to allow people in the past from before the internet to use it.

You can't blame CM for everything. [:)] The next best thing would be to assume a scammer got to you, but you see, it was really time travelers making a visit and you should feel honored that they visited you. [;)]

For gods sakes, if it is a blue police box, just go for the ride!

I was expecting a visit from John Titor or something. Perhaps the Internet is capable of multidimensional travel now?

Multi dimensional travel down a wire seems unlikely. Though I suppose you could get a point across pretty easily.

On reflection, maybe not.

What gets me are the ones that are from places like Alaska or Colorado but CM flags as being within 50 miles of me.....

I believe the distance search is zip code based. People put in the wrong codes and it skews the search parameters. Garbage in, garbage out.

First things first. I completely agree with stef about the zip code. Most people signing on for an account figure any five digits will do.

However, I can tell you that I do know several folks, personally, who will intentionally *not* list Alaska in their residence that do have accounts here. It works the other way around, too. Some folks specifically pick Alaska as their state or origin even if they are in the lower 48. It reduces their unwanted mail.
