Hello everyone, I'm new to the board so I guess my first question is also my introduction. The question is do you feel age is just a number or do you have a set age range preference? I am 20 and have always been with partners older than myself. When out to dinner or a movie I would sometimes catch people staring but when interacting with others into D/s the age difference was never an issue.

jamie, I find that age is a number and personality and maturity level are far more important. In general, I prefer older Doms but I don't rule out that rare younger Dom that knows what he is doing. Welcome, sub tara

Age is a cookie. Anyways, I too am only 20 and i feel 70. My body is broken, i'm disgruntled with the young kids, ant their music. I always shake my fist at punk kids. sigh to be young again

Age is just a number and for me maturity and being in the same place in life are the two most important things of this nature. There are different types of maturity physical, emotional, responsible off the type of my head. While I believe that the older you are the better odds of you being mature on all levels, there are plenty of exceptions on both ends. Being in the right life stage is far more trickier. What a person like to do socially. Types of activities enjoyed. Will we be at the same stage in ten years, fifteen? For example, if you love to mountain bike but your partner is too old or when and if they want children. My preference is to look for someone a little bit older than me but not decades older. Someone I can grow old together with. It is to each there own and what works for them and there significant other.

age means alot to the many shallow people around.. I know women of all ages are attracted to me in real life .. from 17 - 70 . I could easily pass for mid thirties but here so many just toss my emails because they see 49 in the age .. at least i am not a liar.. Joe

Of course age is just a number. That doesn't mean it's not one of a numberof things we can also have a preference about in our interpersonal relations. It's not either/or. Age preference can have a lot to do with compatibility resulting from shared life experience, as much as for physical reasons. For the record, my puppy is 43 and my submissive is 33, though I have evaluated guys in their 50s and 20s. Personally, I think the best of all worlds would have inexperienced males experimenting and learning with inexperienced Dommes. We have to practice and get good on somebody! lol

But speaking from the male side of things, I guess I don't care how old they are as long as they have a combination of sophisticated tastes and are youthful in thought/practice. The last thing I ever want is an ''old maid'' -- And I've seen many young ones. ; } - R

I believe I am hotter now than I ever was in my twenties, but it is largely that my mind/imagination have been let free, not because my body is tighter, or because I can survive the following day on 1-3hours of sleep after partying all night... Now I have to watch what/how much I take in or the subsequent pain/hangover is like a slow painful death. I think the saying "age is just a number" is a cute sentiment for those folks who don't want to be where they are at whatever age they are, but moi, I intend to grow old gracefully... I don't think most of us are as strict about the age parameter as our profiles say, but I personally have a hard time being with a boy young enough to be my offspring. M

But I find that I need life-experience compatibility, and so I do have a certain age range that I seek. I'm more likely to find the compatibility I'm looking for when the sub is closer to my age.
