I may have mentioned that I have an addiction to that silly little Angry Birds game, so I've already opened up the new update for the Star Wars version, and I'm wondering how long it's going to take before the calls of "racism," begin. The latest update brought a Lando Calrissian inspired bird to the slingshot, and well... Remember the crows in Dumbo? The individual character sound effects are the first time the game has used speech, and it's pure jive-talking black stereotype. Rovio is a Finnish company, but since this is an authorized mash-up, it seems safe to assume that Lucasfilm signed off on it. What sort of time frame should we be expecting, before the Sharpton/Jackson ilk start making the talk show rounds? They've got a specific target individual with deep pockets (Lucas), and an example egregious enough that even an insensitive white dude from felony flats like myself raised an eyebrow at it, right off the bat. I don't think it's going to take long (unless they rush a fix, and maybe even if they do). You can get a very brief sample of the audio, at the beginning of the cheat video (after making the damn ad go away). If you know a kid or a geek, just let the game sit there, at the beginning of the first new level (21). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t2a9MSw_2c Yeah, c'mon, huhu, day-um.
