Another thought would be to draw a place that's significant to both of you: a favorite park, beach, restaurant, or the like.

A nude, romantic drawing of yourself. Do it through a mirror if you need an image or take a photo and go from that as your template.

Nice idea, LW!

One caveat, though: If you use a mirror, remember that the image is reversed. That may be pertinent if you have a distinct marking, such as a tattoo, on one side.

Heh...my dad was an artist and loved loved loved to draw nude women so when I hear stuff like the op's, it's the first thing that pops into my head.

It all depends on your dynamic, but if he is a romantic: perhaps a closeup of your eyes, framed by the edging of the type of mask you referred to earlier, looking upwards - as though you were looking up to him.

The right kind of imagery can be powerful.

If that's not to your liking, I would still suggest something incorporating yourself for him (and please note how I dodged using the word "gift" even once!). LW's idea seems like quite a good one to me.

That was really helpful! Thank you! I hadn't thought of that before.

Also, thanks to all for your advice! Hopefully when i'm done with the drawing I can show it to the rest of you

If there's a museum near you, go there with your sketchbook and draw a mask or anything else that strikes your fancy.
