A massive explosion has rocked Manhattan, few blocks away from the UN headquarters. Police and firefighters are at the scene. Initial reports suggest that an underground transformer exploded setting nearby cars on fire.

The incident occurred at the intersection of 50th street and 2nd Avenue. There have been no immediate reports of casualties.
source Russian news agency...

Is it another false flag operation?

pahunkboy -> RE: Blast hits midtown Manhattan (6/15/2013 9:43:19 PM)

I doubt it is anything serious- none of my friends from NYC have said anything.

tazzygirl -> RE: Blast hits midtown Manhattan (6/15/2013 9:43:39 PM)

Seems they get a lot of blasts in Manhattan

TheHeretic -> RE: Blast hits midtown Manhattan (6/15/2013 9:52:51 PM)

Seems like the mayor might want to pull a few business inspectors back off the soda cup squad... [8|]

Officially it was a man hole that exploded and severely damaged a car that was sitting over it at the time.

However, rt.com seems to be pushing something more serious.

And a few people who post on the CNN facebook timeline seem to think that none of the major news agencies have anything about it because they are being prevented from broadcasting.

I Figured I would pull a Alex Jonesesq conspiracy theory story....

If you cant beat em, well you know the rest.

I did not say the locals werent covering it, just the big news agencies.

And in the Alex Jones vein, the footage provided by the local news teams are cgi enhanced to minimize the damage. By morning, Hollywood set designers will have fake facades over the damage so it will look normal.

Check again, Jlf. I got it from ABC news' website. Stored chemicals at a sign-making company. Some of the injured probably aren't going to survive.

I followed your link and they page dealt with a steam explosion on July 17.

I already saw the story about the manhole cover, and I had to look up local stations in NYC to get those.

tazzygirl -> RE: Blast hits midtown Manhattan (6/15/2013 11:07:34 PM)

Oops... I do know I saw it on MSNBC here..... cable news.... thought that was the same report.

littlewonder -> RE: Blast hits midtown Manhattan (6/16/2013 9:20:50 AM)

Manhole covers being blown off are sorta common in NYC. It's why it's not really reported by big agencies. It's just not news for big media, just for local media for that area.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Blast hits midtown Manhattan (6/16/2013 10:07:32 AM)

You mean that FOX hasn't blamed it on Obama and MSNBC hasn't blamed it on Bush yet?

tazzygirl -> RE: Blast hits midtown Manhattan (6/16/2013 11:07:12 AM)

LOL give them both time.
