ORIGINAL: TNDommeK This family often has what we call "freeze moments". Meaning, when everything is perfect in the universe, we say "freeze". That happens a lot around here. Normally it'll be when we are having fun at the gun range, out having dinner, or something similar. But I'd have to say my favorite moment is going I be when we go to Miami for vaca. We are planning to rent a yacht for the day. Some dinner and the ocean on a Yacht, with my Hubby and the brat...definitely a freeze moment. If you'll forgive me for being a total geek here - the ancient Greeks had a wonderful word for those moments: 'kairos' From wikipedia: Kairos (καιρός) is an ancient Greek word meaning the right or opportune moment (the supreme moment). The ancient Greeks had two words for time, chronos and kairos. While the former refers to chronological or sequential time, the latter signifies a time between, a moment of indeterminate time in which something special happens. I think it expresses so perfectly those moments where time almost seems to stand still because the moment is so joyful and emotionally satisfying. Sorry for the derail Aries. One of my favourite memories is when we got to spend a single day in Florence, just walking hand in hand in the sunshine, something beautiful and awe inspiring around every corner. If I got to choose my perfect day I've always wanted to go swimming off a boat in some secluded lagoon, then dinner on the shore-front and a long barefoot walk across the beach after sunset. Cliche, but I still hope to do it one day. Omg, that's awesome! Your geek moments are hot by the way!
