I've been sorta acedemicaly interested. In BDSM and magic. I definitely am sure Gerald was on to something. I also don't think he was using new techniques he invented. Yes he was a nudist. But I don't see any point in his life where he could have kNown or learned about real kink.

I honestly suspect he leaned about the use of controlling blood flow and "sub space" type mindsets from his "mysterious" teaching coven. I know his ideas work. We use similar.

I do credit Paganism for expanding my views on the Goddess. It always did seem alittle odd to me that God was alway's referred to as "Him". Most of the Pagans and Wiccans I have known believe in both a God and Goddess. Sort of a balance.

Well nudity is not really a kink, not inn and off itself. In Pagan eyes nudity is natural, we are born nude and being nude is not sexual, it is not provocative it is just how we naturally are under our clothes. Many Pagans feel that magickal energies flow better when you are nude., to some Pagans nudity is just a spiritual practice and to some it is just the natural state of being without that indicating kink in any way.

This is a common practice in many form of occultism of which Gardener was familiar. I however do not think they are kink specific, I mean what we here on the forum call sub space is basically what would be called gnosis on a occult forum. We now there are several ways to set the human mind in an altered state of consciousness and pain, dedication and strong emotion are some of them.

Nephandi. I've got several responses to your post. (I want to chat more with u about this.) but I'm on a crany I phone andits tough to read my responses when I'm trying to post. So I post when I think my message is understandable. I want to apologize for the hassle.

Not a problem, not a problem at all.

Lol. No prob! BTW stand for British Tradirional Wicca. It's a term we use to seperate us from mainstream "book read and taught supposed wiccans". It desifnates a Trad that's handed down person to person. Word for word. Nothing may be subtracted. But stuff can be added to a line of teacher/student.

Thank you for the clarification. I do have issue with the supposed Wiccan part though. I feel that if you have studied yourself and follow the teachings of Gardner and those inspired by him and consider yourself to be Wiccan then you are not a supposed Wiccan, you are a Wiccan even if you have not had the benefit of a teacher or a Coven to give you direct training. I understand how your line works and that is a great way to do it. I just think one should not look down on those who are book taught ether. Yes having a teacher is the best way to learn but that is not a option for everyone.

The very exhistence of my Trad disputes these supposed sholorly claims. His Trad and Mine are very different but the fundamentals are very very similar. Somewhere, there is obviously a common root from which we all decend.

Perhaps. Well we do know allot of Western occultism have taken inspiration from the Golden Dawn of which Gardener also had roots so that is one link at least.

I wish you well

Most Neo Pagan beliefs have a Goddess and a God, not all of them but most do and balance between the masculine and feminine energies are very important, that being said in early texts that where voted out of the Bible for the most part God had a wife Sophia and there was who of them, and in early versions of the Bible the wording was often we...We created man in Our image...us plural so it is possible that Sophia have not been completely banished from the Bible after all.

I wish you well

In my Trad Goddess and God are both honored. I do know of some feminist groups who only honor the Goddess. But that seems just as unbalanced as only worshiping a God. My wife is an earthy representation of Her. Just as I am a earthy manifestation of Him. We all are.

nephandi -> RE: Magickal and Spiritual BDSM. (6/20/2013 11:04:28 AM)

Greetings

I agree that having it bent the completely different way and only worshiping the Goddess is as imbalanced as just worshiping a God, the two need to work together, They are a part of the whole, They are Ying and Yang, two sides of the same coin. I mean when I look at nature I see so much duality. Night and day, black and white, man and woman, everywhere there is two forces working with and against one another and just honoring one of them just tip the scales and creates imbalance. Now problems also arise when a society only appreciate masculine or feminine traits. Like for so long the typically masculine have been valued over the typically feminine, and that also creates imbalance.

I wish you well

Having just passed My Reiki One, My Spiritual journey has begun. I suppose it has enhanced who I am, what I am & I am even better, much improved Sadist & Pervert.
