Right! That gets so many people into trouble. When my husband was in the military while we were dating his best friend got into trouble for dating a 14 year old girl. My friends daughter wasn't lying about her age though, just trying to be sneaky with her mom.

Something similar is what I never understood.
Guy meets girl in a bar or other 21 and over establishment.
She's drinking so he assumes she must be 21 and has an ID to prove it.
Girl and guy like each other.
Guy takes girl home and they do fun things to each other.
Guy gets arrested for statutory rape and has to register for the rest of his life as a sex offender because she was only 17 and in the bar on a fake ID.
Girl goes scott free.

What the everloving fuck?

Maybe this deserves its own thread.

that's exactly what i thought when Rob Lowe got in all that trouble years ago, for picking up a girl (I think she was really 16) in a bar, having sex with her, and filming it. She was in the bar on a fake ID. If the bouncers or whoever was watching the door in the bar were fooled by her ID, why should anyone be surprised that a horny guy would be? Plus, i really doubt he asked for her ID anyway..the assumption would be that, since she's in a bar, she must be of age.

I was 17 when I met my husband and he was 22, and he used to sneak me into bars. Wow my mom was pissed when she found out I was sneaking around with him. I was lying just a little to her about where I was and who I was with since I knew she would not have approved and she didnt. But in the state we lived in the age of consent was 16 so she could not have done anything. I moved out over him :) But yeah that is wrong and why when people are up in arms about a registered sex offender in the area I always ask how he got on it because there are some very screwed up ways to get on that list. Getting caught pissing on the side of the road can get you on the list as well as picking up a prostitute.

A friend shared this link today, and it brought me a much-needed laugh.

Worth clicking, I promise!!

Even worse, what if the cure for cancer is in the mind of a jehovah's witness who does not believe in modern medicine?

littlewonder -> RE: Things you see posted on facebook. (6/20/2013 8:57:27 PM)

My niece posts every single day, a new conspiracy theory and how eating meat will kill you and you are a bad, evil person if you do eat meat and if you don't believe that the Newtown shooting never happened, then you are stupid. [8|]

I'm embarrassed to have her as my niece.

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: Things you see posted on facebook. (6/21/2013 10:57:29 AM)

Wow yeah I would be too. My mom used to post political stuff then text me about it asking if I had seen it. Hmmm I have not found a way to tell my mom I hide her posts because I am not on facebook for political reasons.

I hate seeing kids posing like they are hookers, I wanna slap the shit outta their moms for allowing it.

When my daughter was in 8th grade, the dress code said no shorts that aren't longer than your fingertips. Did you know they don't make decent length shorts for kids? I figured Sears or JCPenney would have stuff respectable. No, just shorts so short she couldn't bend over without violating various laws.

She had a choice between cutting off her jeans or wearing capris. She picked capris.

But you have to have choices of decent clothes to buy for them. And the stores don't sell anything except hooker clothes for kids.

Earlier today I saw a posting on Facebook that pissed me off.

according to this girl genius "cancer is caused by an inability to forgive, for example mouth cancer is because by an unforgiven communication. If you determine what needs to be forgiven, the cancer will heal".

Yeah, she's about 50 shades of stupid!

Unfuckingbelievable. WTF is wrong with some people?

This one hit the nail on its head:

subfever -> RE: Things you see posted on facebook. (6/21/2013 8:12:40 PM)

Guess I'll have to learn how to upload photos better.

tearsandsighs -> RE: Things you see posted on facebook. (6/22/2013 2:51:08 PM)

i wonder what my son could possibly have done, at 5 months of age, to cause his own cancer....

RochesterDomme -> RE: Things you see posted on facebook. (6/22/2013 10:14:58 PM)

Exactly DCNovice, Tears and Sighs, it was truly one of the most ignorant comments I have ever seen. It's so easy to have stupid theories when you or a close relative aren't affected.

I've resisted e mailing her and asking the self appointed genius, just exactly how did my right breast get into so much mischief that it developed 2 tumors, but my left breast stayed clear???

I have a woman I have been friends with for several years, and all the sudden, she goes batshit crazy, with all this nonsense about chemtrails in the sky and secret prison camps underground all across the United States.

She's about one more nutty post away from me asking her what the fuck is wrong with her

SatinWhip -> RE: Things you see posted on facebook. (6/22/2013 10:52:48 PM)

I have to confess that I have probably half of the people on my Facebook friends list hidden so I don't have to see the drivel that they post on my newsfeed.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Things you see posted on facebook. (6/23/2013 12:24:35 AM)

I got a few kooks on my newsfeed, Bo being one of them. Most of it is political, but I am a Doctor Who fan and I got a few former CM friends on there. I chat with Bo and Lizard when we are online together and I keep up with the dogs (Little Bit had a puppy, we think it was her first pregnancy...LOL). I also get some great recipes on there...copy and paste to my notebook.

absolutchocolat -> RE: Things you see posted on facebook. (6/23/2013 12:47:43 AM)

FR

A close friend posted that she cheated on her fiancée. I was shocked. Some stuff should be private! I also think it's funny when people post pictures and videos of themselves doing illegal activities. Bleach in the gene pool. [8|]
