jlf1961 -> I guess this is where this should be... (6/21/2013 7:52:39 AM)

This was on the cnn feed on facebook.

When it was pointed out to the one who posted this image that the Muslim pages did not exist on facebook, he responded with "the ideology exists, that is bad enough."

Now I have grown used to right wing extremists making complete false statements to bolster their stand against Islam, Abortion, Obama, and just about anything else that the dont like, but this is probably the dumbest.

This is one more thing that makes me wonder if the right wing is on the verge of a total collapse into chaos. They have extremists that give them a bad name, they have republican party chairmen insulting Republican candidates, (ne called a former beauty queen a prostitute and a few other descriptive terms.)

Do you really believe that the left doesn't engage in false or misleading hyperbole when it suits their purposes? Right wingers have grown used to deceptions, outright lies, outrageous hyperbole, etc. from the left as well.  Here on CollarMe in the P&R forum, there are people who immediately believe a story is suspect just because it comes from a news agency they don't like. Lefties pretty much hate outright anything put out by Fox or Breitbart. Righties distrust or find laughable anything put out by MSNBC or HuffPo. Personally, I prefer the BBC, and I'm sure there are several people here who take issue with the BBC.

Your OP reminds me of all the idiot leftists who were gleefully convinced that Rush Limbaugh was going to be run out of business after calling Sandra Fluck a slut not too long ago. Oh! His advertisers were voting with their wallets and he was going to be run out of radio, they said.  Remember? Yet here we are, just a few months later, and Rush Limbaugh's advertisers have started coming back. His market share is not in any danger at all. Leftists STILL listen to him in order to find new excuses to whip the sheeple on the left into a frenzy.

The notion that the Republicans are falling apart is even more ridiculous than the lefts impotent rage over the slut incident. Moreover, your OP seems to indicate that you don't think the left lies about anything for political gain.

I didn't think you were that naïve...

Then quit whining and post it so the rest of us can laugh at it as well.

Jeff if you are asking or saying that the right wing may lose support because if this type of fanaticism then I ask you to look to yourself. I do not know your political affiliation but what ever it is would you change the way you vote simply because some fanatic that claims to be a member of your party spouts bullshit?

I know I wouldn't change and I do not think it will make any difference to the 50 percent of the voting public.

Funny how with 13 year olds they allow web sites with photos of murdered children posted. Yet bdsm as a theme is bad?

There seems to be evidence that some of the main stream right are trying to find ways to distance themselves from these people.

As far as 50% of the voting public, I would suggest you look at the last election.

As for me, I call my self a democrat, but in truth there are some conservative causes I believe in, such as abortion, gun control (although I do believe the present laws should be better enforced) but I also support efforts to limit CO2 emissions, alternative energy and fuels, and then there is a item that neither side seems to be real keen on, rebuilding the infrastructure.

So as far as party affiliation, I am a member of the Republican Green Democrat Lunatic party.

I think parties are forever changing their platforms so no one is moving away from anything... they are moving towards a consensus. Nut case fanatics are not the guiding force...at least in my opinion. As far as the 50 percent I think this is a good estimate when taking all of congress together. Next election it could go either way because the country is pretty well evenly split just now and has been for awhile.

Personally I am a member of the party that at any one time represents my personal views...or at least as close as is possible...so from time to time it has been Democrat or Republican. I refuse to throw my vote away in protest to a 3rd no chance party no matter how much I agree with them.

Not a reply to anyone, this means the right will collapse just like Chris Matthews claims that Obama has never done anything wrong in his life means the left is collapsing. That is not at all.

erieangel -> RE: I guess this is where this should be... (6/22/2013 11:52:22 PM)

The problem with posts like the one the OP shared is that most will not be swayed by it. However, there are the ignorant few who will be swayed by such claims. The right wing has become expert at making such false claims, at inventing scandal, basically with bombarding the ignorant few with as much misinformation as possible. Does the left do it, too? Of course. One example is HuffPost's recent story of the Nazi use of methamphetamine. They suggested this was "new information", which it was not. They also suggested the Nazi's were the only troops using drugs, they were not. Speed was legal during WWII and not highly abused (is there a correlation in that somewhere?) and the US military also supplied our troops with amphetamines--though admittedly not meth--because it allowed them to fight harder longer and harder under terrible conditions with little complaint.
