Savage Thunder was written by Johanna Lindsey.

JAYNE ANN KRENTZ

Jayne Ann Krentz is one of my favorite bodice rippers authors. She writes under 3 different names--contemporary under Jayne; historical as Amanda Quick and futuristic (though I don't remember what name she writes those books under at the moment).

My faves of all time are the Amanda Quick books and I still read them when I find new one. She comes up with characters that say things like: "Henceforth, whenever we are threatened with being cast adrift on love's transcendent, golden shore, I want you to slap my face". (Blade to Emily.)

Bertrice Small...queen of bodice rippers...

I am now collecting Sabrina Jeffries, Julia Justiss and Julia Quinn for Mom to read. The library here is not really big on romance novels. I have downloaded a few ebooks on my Kindle, mainly paranormal bodice rippers...got to love werewolves who forget to take off their clothes when they change...

Dusky, I recommend Jennifer Blake as well. Most of her stories take place in New Orleans and Louisiana, both historical and contemporary. If you want paranormal erotica, Laurel Hamilton has shape shifters (weres), vampires and the main character (Anita Baker) deals in raising the dead as a job. The locale for her is the St. Louis area.

There is also Charlene Harris, who writes the Sookie Stackhouse (True Blood) series.

I have fond memories of reading books by Barbara Cartland. No virgins were harmed in the writing of her books - they all waited until after marriage to be deflowered - but there was a lot of bosom heaving before the marriage ceremony.

those ellipses killed it for me, though (...) after the 2nd book i refused to read them anymore

Thanks Shahar, think I might give a Blake whirl, as I've got enough paranormal stuff going on in my life.

Just got the Julia Justiss books, so Mom has enough reading material for at least 2 weeks.
