Because of how you worded your question.

"more than it's fair share" like there's a quota on how many overweight individuals can be a part of anything?

sixstrokes -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 4:40:26 AM)

meat cleaver - the age in question seems to be about 18 for bdsm though - but as i said it is not a criticism just an observation - perhaps the first response on here was the best

sixstrokes -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 4:42:18 AM)

Lilies - and if i had said why does such a group contain more than its' fair share of intelligent people would i be accused of being mean spirited?

Dollbecky -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 4:43:12 AM)

[8|] really overweight women in bdsm ...how dare they; Bdsm is only for glamour models and ex cheerleaders...oh and men who seem to be allowed to be ...you know depressingly normal    i.e old, wrinkly, saggy, fat, thin, bald, hairy, wear glasses, have poor fashion sense, have crooked teeth, body oder issues......
I am sick of these threads ...they dont upset me dispite the fact I am chubby...I am just bored to death of them.
CM so needs a troll section for these folks to post to.

No but you would be told that is probably not true and there is no way of knowing. There has been a thread on this saying people in BDSM have a higher % of degrees and masters but degrees and masters are given away like confetti nowadays.

LiliesDoGrow -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 4:51:23 AM)

If you're looking for responses that denote that BBW's all suffer from some catastrophic childhood event then I stand by my statement that your question was with a mean intention.

I'm not BBW. Never had a weight problem. Just don't like seeing people picked out and scrutinized like bugs.

doll -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 4:51:42 AM)

I so agree with you dollbecky... I get so tired of reading posts about big people.  There are no more big people in bdsm then there are anywhere else in the world.

And no offense to the Doms...but I also agree with her on some of you being "winners" in the looks, intelligence and overall "first impressions" catagories.  Some think that in order to be a sub/slave/Domme one has to be skinny...blah.

Ok...I am done ranting....sighs and goes back to my corner.

sixstrokes -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 4:53:41 AM)

dollbecky - is the troll section for people who ask questions you don't like then?
i did not criticise - i raised the question - the first response raised the point about lack of self esteem - that response seems apt bearing in mind the responses that followed

smilezz -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 4:56:28 AM)

Because we are just that damn good.  <hair toss>

*laughs*

Lilies with comments like that you will make overweight people feel they have a problem

goodgirlkat -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 5:03:02 AM)

My first posting....be gentle.  If you attend munches/dungeons/BDSM events, you will see that it is NOT an internet thing.  I qualify as a BBW, and sometimes i wonder if it is the fact that food addictions and sexual addictions are both just addictions.  I have both.  I know this doesn't apply to everyone, but I feel it explains my own need/desire to try, explore, experience everything I can, as often as i can.

LL1aintbehavin -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 5:08:30 AM)

sixstrokes
i have no clue what you are looking for in an answer, as it was just a vague statement commenting on all the BBW's in the lifestyle.
the responses so far you have cast aside as irrevelant and not what you are looking for.  the only answer you enjoyed reading was the one where the girl stated she was bbw, and abused and had self esteem issues.
but she also clarified that she was here cause she LIKED it. i think that is the common thread here, not that some are big, small, short, bald or whatever.
to single out a body type such as you did seems shallow and that you seem women as size ranges not individuals.
i am not thin, i do not have self esteem issues, but i love this lifestyle.  if i lost weight and became a barbie doll i'd still love the lifestyle.
i think many have been categorized according to superficial physical attributes and do not react well to another thread doing just that.  if you look into archives there have been many subjects on weight issues.
just my point of view of course

sixstrokes -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 5:15:37 AM)

LL1 - where did i state that the first response was the only one i "enjoyed" reading? I thought it was interesting and honest? Does bdsm attract people with what they see as deficiencies? If this question does not intereste you LL1 i  think there is a poll elsewhere on here about what you would like for christmas and another one where you have to think of musical groups beginning with different letters of the alphabet :)

LiliesDoGrow -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 5:15:41 AM)

What on Earth are you writing about? I don't ask people why they look, think, are a certain way in a group. I don't point people out like curiosities in threads.

Why does bdsm appear to attract far more than its' fair share of overweight women?

This question begs another...

Why does bdsm appear to attract far more than its' fair share of idiots?

grins,   I was going to say jack asses

I don't think it does. No more than today's society in general.

One of the things I tell people who are nervous about attending their first munch is "Look at the average supermarket line.  That's what the crowd is going to look like."

sixstrokes -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 5:21:14 AM)

Lilies - you implied that being overweight was something you would not be happy with - you felt obliged to point out you were not overweight as well - i dont think people care whether you are overweight or not

LiliesDoGrow -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 5:27:17 AM)

I wasn't "obliged" to point out anything. My reasoning for writing that I am not BBW is to prove that women of all shapes and sizes find threads like this offensive.

LiliesDoGrow -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 5:28:34 AM)

And I implied nothing of the sort. You assume much Sixstrokes.

sixstrokes -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (6/27/2006 5:33:17 AM)

i refer you to the thread about sewing groups - how people rely on each other for validation
