ORIGINAL: Phydeaux What difference does it make now? Well, if you were one of the guys given a desk job for failure to go along with the coverup - I'd say it matters. If you were the parents of one of the slain guys, I think you'd like those who did it held accountable. If you were one of the people in the Libyan intelligence network - that was ENTIRELY rolled up because secret documents were left unsecured - and if you died as a result of it - well I think it would matter. If we were trying to buy back anti-aircraft weapons from al-qaida afiliates - as alleged and all that data goes missing - well I think it matters. If you happen to care about transparency bald faced lies matter. (clapper saying under oath that no americans were having calls taped. Holder saying he didn't participate in the decision. the under secretary saying only stylistic modifications were made to the cia talking points.... Hold people accountable or they will lie again. And regarding the NSA scandals We have never had every conversation, every internet posting saved for review by NSA agents, acting without warrants. As it was admitted happened more than 10,000 times in the current administration. I hasten to quite disagree. "2007 court records indicate that the Bush-Cheney administration began such surveillance at least 7 months prior to 9/11. The Bush administration bypassed the law requiring such actions to be authorized by FISA court warrants, the body set up in the Seventies to oversee Executive Branch spying powers after abuses by Richard Nixon. Former QWest CEO John Nacchios said that at a meeting with the NSA on February 27, 2001, he and other QWest officials declined to participate. AT&T, Verizon and Bellsouth all agreed to shunt customer communications records to an NSA database. The above included everything we discuss today.
