Nice dog and pony show. Gay weddings at that house might be great for making a political statement, but legally, they aren't married. The state of Kansas doesn't recognize gay marriage at this time. Since there is a state Constitutional Amendment defining marriage as between a man and woman only, it might take an act of SCOTUS to force the issue in Kansas. I know a lot of gay rights activists think that if Prop 8 is struck down by the Supremes this week, then it will happen everywhere, but that falls in the catagory of "wishful thinking". Keep in mind they just struck down an Arizona voting law as unConstitutional but left laws in other states that achieve the same thing through different means intact. One of those states was Kansas, and Kansas is very good at drafting laws that are hard to challenge. The gals had a very expensive PDA, some free press for their cause, and maybe got themselves a new toaster. It's not like they got any legal rights out of the deal. If they're content with that, highball! -SD-
