I like the self portraits in the mirror reflection but the house behind them is trashed worse than a trailer park in a hurricane.

Those are tame compared to some of the delusional things I read in profiles. Some are amusing, but most are just scary.

I also snorted recently when some dom guy was looking for girls and mouthed off how discrete he is, but all his profile were showing were two female face pics...yep...that sounds "discrete"... but that one was on a different page...

Him saying "Honey, get me more water" where the option to say no fucking way doesn't exist is perfectly fine around my kids and our friends. Really, as long as he isn't an idiot who desires to destroy our lives, there's no problem being 24/7.

New one, "I am looking for a real man"

Nothing else, even less if you view her profile.

Now my questions about this are:

1) Is she looking for the cliche alpha male?
2) Is she looking for the cliche dominant?
or
3) Is she looking for the typical self proclaimed real man that beats the crap out of women as a way of making himself feel big and strong?

I always liked the profiles that vehemently warned against certain groups (men, Dommes, etc.) reading their profile. As though we could unread the profile.

I get a kick out of this, too. Though I will say that I really appreciate it when a woman outlines who she's absolutely not interested in since it potentially saves me the trouble of a message. On the other hand, the vagueness of, "I only want someone around my age." makes me want to slap someone.

I think it's silly to try to control the traffic of views on your page. It makes one sound bratty and immature. I, for one, like to look at people's pages for a number of reasons -- they posted something crazy, or I'm flipping through random profiles, etc. -- and I definitely have no interest in them or want to send them a message. "Just edit your bulk mail folders and shut up" is what runs through my mind when I read one of those.

You really think that's vague? To me it would indicate 5 years, plus or minus.

After all, how many of us are going to say "no more than 3 years, 7 months, and 12 days older".

Some people like precise numbers Des, precise numbers could mean the difference between life and death, or getting blackjack...

emphasis added

That's just it. To you five years is a reasonable stretch. To others, it's seven or ten or two. Some people might say usually five years, but seven for the right person. To a lot of women, it's five or ten years older, and no younger when looking for a man.

If you're going to reject certain characteristics out of hand, let people know. It's not terribly hard, and a nice notice for the people who read your entire profile but don't meet certain criteria of yours. If they message you anyway, it's on them.
