I couldn't pick one thing. I have a little box of treasures - my wedding album, my favourite doll from when I was tiny, my daughter's first pair of shoes, my gran's cookbook from when she was a new bride, a memento of my foster sister and so on. Other than those things, there are items I'd feel inconvenienced without - my laptop, my car etc, but nothing I would be sad about losing in a fire.

I couldn't pick one thing either. While I like my stuff, I can't point to one thing and say "That's my favorite!". I have a pair of MC boots my dad bought me before he died, I have some stuff from my mom, stuff from the Army, etc, etc. In the end, it's just "stuff", and if you have to walk away from it all, you can't get overly attached. More than once in my life I was down to the clothes on my back and a single backpack, so I don't think that way anymore.

I agree with this ^. If you count dogs as possessions, then mine are my favorite possession. If you don't, then I have no favorite possession. My mother's house burned down in the Oakland firestorm in the 90s, and I saw a lifetime of someone's memorabilia and history in things vanish in an afternoon. That ended my attachment to material things just like that. Photographs included.

My dogs and two of my rifles that are set up like the sniper rifles I used in the army, followed by a journal kept by one of my Cherokee ancestors. I mean he basically was both wise and a complete nut.
