Im 50 and havent got to that stage yet.I am still fertile.I have heard from most men that their menopausal wives have gone off sex 100%.

I think that's cause they married the wrong kind of woman!

Seriously, some of us are hotter than ever...

I really think that most men who makes this statement are bending the truth a little. They're more likely saying this because it will get them laid

It could be because their women who have mostly been in a 20 year plus relationship are bored with their partners or even getting their own piece of ass somewhere else

None of my 50 plus friends are not interested in sex

DesFIP -> RE: Menopause question (7/7/2013 9:15:42 PM)

My sex drive totally disappeared for two years. It's back but not as strong as it was before.

I went on SSRIs for depression during perimenopause. They stopped the night sweats totally and diminished the hot flashes. But I didn't mind it happening while I was awake. You feel it coming on and you peel off all your clothes until you're down to a sports bra or a skinny undershirt. But the night sweats, waking up needing to change the sheets. Now those were nasty.

To the Dominant Women, do you think you would be more or less interested in having a sub/slave when you are in menopause. I read a profile of a woman who said something about it. I was in bed with a woman going through it once while she was getting hot and sweating i would have liked a towel in the bed but it was ok otherwise. We didn't discuss it afterwards at all but I am thinking of it after I saw the profile.

Do you think it would make you more sadistic, more demanding or just more moody?

I heard some women say they wanted sex more during it too and wonder how common that is.

The world never ceases to amaze.

I'm thinking I'd need tarps. Lots and lots of tarps. [:D]

You bring the tarps, I'll bring the scalpels. And the, umm, canvas.

That's actually a damn fine offer and if either of us is ever in the neighborhood, I'd absolutely take you up on it.

Lucylastic -> RE: Menopause question (7/11/2013 6:05:44 PM)

Ive been going thru it since I was 37 im now 51, the hot flashes upset me more than anything, I feel so icky I cant stand anything next to my skin, I too have gone outside nekid in winter, just to feel that instant cold relief. However the libido is full at all times, the mood swings, I generally remove myself from all fragile souled humans and dowhat I need to do to become more mellow(without alchohol or illicit drugs)
My hormones/system are screwed up totally right now, cysts fibroids, tumours and endo have plagued me for years, but all the women in my family are the same(mum just had a fibroid removed, and she is 79)
I cant sleep with anyone when Im ovulating, and often get up in the middle of the night, and walk around cos I cant stand anything against my skin, i also get the itchies, which irritates the hell outta me.
Hubby is a saint most times, n pet has learned that I can turn more sadisty/evil minded...but I havent hurt him, the urge to make him safe word passes fairly quickly.
But Ive found the only time I DONT wanna have sex is when either of them is being an ass....it doesnt happen much

Rawni -> RE: Menopause question (7/11/2013 6:48:10 PM)

((((((((((Lucy)))))))))))))) I feel for you, I really do! Have you looked into the mattress toppers that are memory foam and I think a cooling gel that helps keep you cool? There is also a pillow now I saw advertised on tv that is supposed to help a lot, but I haven't checked that out yet. It looks promising and I would think would help a lot with the night time stuff. I only use tee shirt material sheets and that helps with the softness next to my skin.

I hope your mom is doing okay and that you both find some comforts!

Lucylastic -> RE: Menopause question (7/11/2013 7:12:50 PM)

Smewchies Rawni, Yeah I have a foam topper, but i need a towel on top of it to stop it making me sweat, Id look at the gel, if it wasnt covered in any plastic:) Hot pillows are another thing that make it miserable. I have over active sweat glands as it is:) another reason I dislike summer.
Im hyper senstitive at that stage, even a breeze passing over my hair/legs/arms/ irritates me to the point of deep scratching..
Iwilll look into the gel stuff and the pillow too:)
Thanks hon
Oh and a big RE hello To MS Luscious!!! nice to see you back.

I haven't slept well for weeks due to the heat. Like this?

Hydraluxe Cooling Gel Mattress Padsale $299.99-$499.99

Or the gel is in the foam like this?

Rawni -> RE: Menopause question (7/12/2013 9:25:27 AM)

That is like the pillow thing I saw. Try this link. http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-c33512/home-classics-3-in-gel-memory-foam-reversible-mattress-topper.jsp?crosssell=true

It isn't a direct link to the memory foam/gel I was talking about, but there are newer choices since I last looked. I use Serta foam and won't go with anything else. I do believe Serta has the gel foam mix, but don't have time to find it. Please trust me... there is a huge difference in memory foam and you must watch the video provided for sure on Serta to understand that the density is important. I use the medium if I can get it. You don't want it too soft or you sink and some memory foam can be too hard, believe it or not. I have slept on some.

If you are having issues with skin or other sensitivities to touch or breeze... memory foam will help. Add tee shirt material for sheets and you have heaven.

Overstock has free shipping and used to charge at the most $2.99. They have the cheapest price for quality memory foam and not all memory foam is equal and they process that order and you get it in a matter of days. The first time I got it, I was out in the country... I mean the boonies and it was within five days. I won't buy memory foam anywhere else and I use it on every piece of furniture I use.

[;)] You edited... that second one is newer to me so I don't know about it, but it is more like what I was talking about.

kalikshama -> RE: Menopause question (7/12/2013 9:55:38 AM)

I have a latex mattress and memory foam topper and am up on density, but this gel thing is new to me - thanks!

According to the reviews on Amazon, this one smells like "a big box of Junior Mints or pint of Ben and Jerry's Mint Chocolate Cookie" - I don't know if that would be yummy or distracting.

I'm a little reluctant to buy online in case there's a lingering smell issue with whatever I end up getting. I couldn't find anything on the Bed Bath & Beyond website. Your Kohl's link says "fresh scent" which usually equals artificial scent.

In Florida, I was able to get rid of the foam smell after a few days out on the balcony, but that was with toppers from a particular vendor and it's been so rainy here...

Rawni -> RE: Menopause question (7/12/2013 9:59:55 AM)

You do have more sensitivity than even I have and that is saying something. If it has that minty smell, I am not sure that would dissipate, like the other memory foam smell people talk about. I never had a problem with mine, but have heard that in reviews before. Maybe, you could contact whoever makes it and ask them for a sample of it because of your sensitivities and they could help you out.

kalikshama -> RE: Menopause question (7/12/2013 10:19:19 AM)

Great idea, thanks!

Lucylastic -> RE: Menopause question (7/12/2013 10:49:46 AM)

Most excellent info thanks ladies:)

A woman after my own heart. Unfortunately, that's an organ I'd like to keep for a few more years.

njlauren -> RE: Menopause question (7/16/2013 9:42:53 PM)

You all have my sympathy, though it passed rather rapidly for me, there were several times when I had the equivalent of it, when I was on HRT in transition...I had to drop them to be able to do surgery, and that was miserable, I had it when the endo switched the type of HRT (I went back to my original one), and then when I stopped for good.....guys, it is pretty damn miserable, to say the least.

My sweetie takes some herbal stuff a female MD came up with that has really helped her (she is peri, not in full blown), and has also helped with the libido and with vaginal dryness (she is now the opposite:). I realize everyone is the same, but it is a possible alternative to the risks of HRT, seems to work for some women. To be honest, I would gladly suffer menopause if life had allowed me to go on my way..ah, well.
