Over the last few days, after discovering a plethora of Roger Corman movies on TIVO, I have been watching them, and I have discovered something about the man as a director and the films themselves.

1) As a director, Roger does not need any excuse for gratuitous nudity in his later films.

2) As for plots, b is to good a grade to give them, campy fits better.

3) Some pretty good actors actually played in these films, either it was a bad time in their careers, or they decided that a few campy sci fi and horror movies were worth the time.

4) He always had good looking women in his movies.

Some weren't that bad. Bucket of Blood was pretty decent. Then again, you have The Wasp Woman and other similar crap. Not Of This Earth was cool.

I watched not of this earth today.

I have downloaded Death Sport, already have the original death race and all of the new versions.

I have EPIX on cable and EPIX premium on TIVO for free, makes for some interesting movie choices.

You know, it just came up on another film just a few minutes ago.

"What movie do you want them to never remake?"

Someone said, "Little Shop of Horrors."

I doubt very much the person was referring to the 1960 version by Roger Corman. That was campy as hell. The play, and later the movie starring Rick Moranis, were far better. If you look at the video cassette or the DVD you might come away with the idea that Jack Nicholson plays the star role in one of his earliest parts; he plays an (originally) uncredited bit part as The Dentist's patient.
