I'd warn myself not to let Carin sign that DNR order, because I wouldn't be able to do anything she wanted; the nursing home would only "keep me informed". They translated the DNR order as do not give her antibiotics for a bladder infection...and kept offering her more pain meds for it instead. (The bladder infection was from the urinary catheter.)
Not to ask M for help looking up Carin's kids, to tell them when she had passed on. M didn't wait until Carin died, but decided that the kids had a right to know, in spite of C being adamant for years about no contact. She was right, her kids hated her guts and was glad she was dying, and her daughter arrived "on C's deathbed" to tell her what a crappy mother she had been. (This is what C had begged me not to let happen.)
Oh...and I would have told myself to have C get her ass into the hospital ASAP over that lump in the lymph node in her neck, rather than waiting several more months for her medical card to be issued upon her official retirement. Many people I've known, including my sister, has had lumps there that were nothing, and I was wrong not to be very alarmed...I thought common sense would make her go to a doctor to have it checked out; I was wrong.
If there was time, I would have told myself not to put my VHS tapes in the book cases against the wall, or they would all get moldy, and to NOT go on that birth control pill or else I'd get dozens of blood clots in my lungs.
Other than that, there is nothing about my life...as this would cause changes in my here and now...and I like my life right now just the way it is. If I was able to prevent the damage to both of my knees...which I would love to do...my life might be very different than what it is. (I might not have bo, etc.)
(Yes, I CAN talk fast, lol, and would have said all that in 30 seconds.)
