Missokyst -> TwilightZone marathon (7/4/2013 12:06:30 PM)

Today I find myself watching the Twilight Zone marathon on Syfy. I will probably watch most of them but I know there are 2 episodes I still cannot stand to watch.

Living Doll
http://www.tv.com/shows/the-twilight-zone/living-doll-12711/

and
Little Girl Lost
http://www.tv.com/shows/the-twilight-zone/little-girl-lost-12676/

Those two totally creeped me out when I was a child. All my dolls except Barbie ended up at the back of my closet facing the back. And my bed is never pushed against the wall.

If you watched Twilight Zone, what episodes stand out and why?

I never had a problem with any of the twilight zone episodes, the new ones, the ones from the sixties, or outer limits, or night gallery. Or any horror movies.

The one with Agnes Moorehead where she is terrorized by little aliens who turn out to be us.

Not sure why that one stands out but it does.

Oh and the ones with the toys in the barrel who come to life.

edited to add, I don't have a problem watching those, they are just ones that really made me think.

The coon hunt episode, it and the Moorehead one are my favorites.
The one with the tape player were the guy burns Serlings tape at the end is cool too.

The one that did my head in was the one with the little boy who could control his environment. Turned his uncle into a jack in the box & other stuff. That was a weird one.

With Billy Mumy
He made a sequel in the 90's version of Zone

Thanks Miss, I am in on this one.
I love the old Twilight Zone episodes!

Let's see:

1. The one with Billy Mummy in which he controls and terrorizes the entire town as a 6 yr. old.

2. The woman that picks up a hitchhiker and learns that she died in a car crash.

3. One of my favorites is the man, that makes his greedy family wear the masks until midnight.

4. The bank teller that wishes for more time to read, and survives the bomb only to break his glasses.

5. The talking doll episode with telly savales.

I think these have to be my top 5.
Back in those days, people really had to be able to act.
Deep sigh

Happy 4th!

Twilight Zone was very good, but Outer Limits kicked its ass bigtime. The new Twilight Zone was not so good, and the new Outer Limits actually got better, until the later seasons when they started reusing footage.

You want something to think about ? Try (the original) Outer limits - The Bellaro Shield. It's free on IMDB and hulu.

Watching it now,

Missokyst -> RE: TwilightZone marathon (7/4/2013 5:05:31 PM)

Oh yeah. I often found Outer Limits beyond my ability to sit and watch.

Oh... I loved that coon hunt episode.
There are definite themes in the Zone. But I really like it because of all the actors who appear. It is funny to see Shatner so young, or Steve McQueen.

And writers were smarter than the audience .

There was a little girl in our neighborhood named Tina and the older kids got her to go around telling people my name is talking Tina and you'd better be nice to me

BamaD -> RE: TwilightZone marathon (7/4/2013 6:45:41 PM)

I liked the fact that most of the time the people who got messed over deserved it.

soul2share -> RE: TwilightZone marathon (7/4/2013 7:27:08 PM)

Well, it seems that the episodes I like are already listed. There was the one with the man and his dog.....was that the coon hunt one? Where he is offered his place in heaven, but they wont let the dog in, so he moves on. Turns out it wasn't heaven at all. (Never trust anyone who doesn't like dogs!)

And there was one that I've only seen once, I can't remember it all because I was younger, but it was something that happened on a plane, and the thing I remember most about it is that the flight attendants were mannequins.

I also like Night Gallery in the later years. It's on now in syndication on a channel called MeTV here in Georgia. I think it used to be called RTV - Retro TV. There was also a program called Tales from the Darkside that Syfy has on too. I don't see The Outer Limits much, it seems hard to find in syndication.

The one with the guy being the only human alive and finally being able to relax and read. Then his glasses break.

The one where a guy and his dog die and they walk along the road and the devil tries o get he guy to come in but the dog won't go.

And one where this one guy dies because of some new leather shoes he's wearing that he didn't score the bottom of.

The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street

A Game Of Pool

Burgess Meredith was the man in: Time Enough At Last

He was also in the comedy Mr Dingle The Strong

Also he was in The Obsolete Man the brilliant episode
where he turns the tables on the state prosecutor
Fritz Weaver, who condemned him to death because he
was a librarian.

Don't get on the plane, it's a cookbook!
Loved that one, it was rather humerous also.
The Twilight Zone series from the 60s rocks.

Termyn8or -> RE: TwilightZone marathon (7/4/2013 11:07:31 PM)

here is something you can all check out real quick. It is one of those quickies. you know Twilight Zone gave you two episodes sometimes, well in the new one they did this time. Very short, and in the spirit :

It really is one of my favorites, despite my like of other things, like Outer Limits - The Human Factor.

I can give you a link to that as well. Kinda gets you in the nuts really.
