It seems that two days after I was born, the actor I was named for, Jeff Chandler died from blood poisoning following an operation on his back.. It is clear I was responsible.

Years ago, one of my dad's friends in the Hibernian Club explained to me what my name meant in Gaelic. Translated, it means "wise protector of my (named clan)". Of course, at first my dad told me that it meant "he who doesn't turn off the lights in a room when he's done," but the old guy told me the real meaning.

Don't blame yourself ! Blame the doctor for doing such a shabby job . I was named after 2 of my uncles and my father gave me his last name . It was the only thing the jerk gave me .
