I was supposed to be getting the date for my shoulder surgery.

Oh no.

She won't do the shoulder surgery because of the damage in my neck and spine, so I have to be referred to the spinal people to see when they're going to do that.

And no doubt they'll want scans and mri's and all that fun stuff.

And it'll take months and months.

Head, meet desk.

You're only 43. That's way too young to be falling apart.

Nah, not really. I had two vertebrae in my neck fused at age 32 and my first knee replacement at 47. I was athletic in my youth and did a lot of damage to my body.

I feel great now. God bless those brilliant orthopedic surgeons.

If your doc wants you to get extra tests to make sure he/she doesn't screw up your surgery, that's the way it's got to be. I know it's a hassle to have to wait until you jump through hoops to get some relief but it will be worth it when your surgery is done exactly right.
Good luck!!

I'm due a knee replacement, but thanks to the best knee surgeons in the world (thanks to the kneecapping that goes on here) I'm hanging on to my knee just about ;)

I'm just pissed right off that all this time has been wasted and if she knew she wasn't for doing the surgery she could have referred me months ago.

I have put my name on a list for a new cloned body or a full prosthetic body...

If that does not happen soon, I plan to use the arcane arts and steal the youth and health of some poor teenager.

8 knee surgeries before I was 45 on my right knee, four on my left, two back surgeries, fem tib bypass last year and at some point, a TKR on my right knee.

As I keep saying, I am too damn old to fill this alive...

And I'll tell you something else.

I went down and back on the train. All I did was sit on the train. One change of trains, but the rest, just sitting.

And I'm blooming knackered. Shattered.

A friend has finally finished knee replacements. But first they had to fix the disc problems in his back. Then he had to get all dental surgery done. And every time he thought he had finished, they had to start back over on the list. I think it took over two and a half years from beginning to end.

However there is light at the end of the tunnel. It's just a really long tunnel.

Traveling exhausts me too, and I've never been been sure why, since (as you noted) it's mostly just sitting.

Wow. I understand about the back, but why the dental stuff?

And another horrific night with pain.

I take.

Cocodamol 30/500
Naproxen
Robaxin
Tramadol
Lyrica

ANd I have diazepam to take when the shoulder spasms really badly

And zopiclone which is a sleeping tab

Took all of those last night and other than the tramadol making my face buzz I might as well have ate smarties.

Am going to go to the gp tomorrow and raise hell. I simply cannot wait months and months while they faff about all over again. I've been like this in this much pain since march 2011

Apols for spelling errors if there are any. Teeny screen. And apple spellcheck.
