Let's rephrase the premise of the question:

How about...

"President Obama is always an embarassment to the country when he's overseas, but is okay for every Secreatary of State he gives the job to allowed to be an embarassment to the country as well???"

That phrasing is a little more accurate.

Just more partisan bullshit.

Really?

So.... in the middle of the biggest event of his tenure at State, John Kerry is out living high oh his yacht and then his office lies about it, more than once and its partisan???

Of course it's partisan. There's a large contingent of the liberal left that thinks the sun shines out of anyone's ass that has a capital "D" after their name.

Since anyone that doesn't march in lock step must be "them", by definition, this is a partisan issue.

I hope this helped.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

People. PEOPLE. PEOPLE! Let's remember; he's a navy man. His love of boats is well documented; especially more enjoyable when not running away from automatic weapons fire.

All the folks I served with in the military would agree that the avoidance of automatic weapons fire is a primary consideration.
Of course those chairborn rangers who served with john wayne and chuck norris are much braver than those who actually do it.

John Kerry is an up-standing US citizen and public servant. It's not like he'd ever belong to a group that marches under a communist banner or anything. He especially wouldn't do it while we're at war with a communist country.

Which communist country had we declared war on durring this period?

quote:

He especially wouldn't do it while still an officer in the naval reserve.

Does being an officer in the naval reserve deprive one of his fist ammendment rights?

He certainly wouldn't appear in front of a joint hearing (I think)

Can we stop this insanity now and get on with the "It's Bush's fault" posts, please?

Do you really think there is any difference amongst these assholes?

Exactly.
I don't mind that the man takes a break, we all need one from time to time, but I'm starting to think this administration is simply incapable of telling the truth about anything.
I mean, this is basic shit. No need whatsoever to lie about it.
But they did, not once, but repeatedly. Even when confronted with pictures, they remained all, "That's not my hand in the cookie jar."
Which is kinda worrisome, to put it kindly...
The lack of transparency, the utter inability to be honest about even the most trivial shit, it's becoming problematic.

I'd like to say it wasn't always the case, but that would be erroneous to the nth degree.
However, while the Govt has always lied to us, they generally have been able to at least kinda sorta maybe a little bit discriminate between, how to put this, worthy lies and those not worth the effort. Think the NSA head before Congress as an example of the first kind, getting sandbagged with a question Congress already knows the answer too, and also knowing full GodDamn well the head can in no way answer truthfully on open camera due to security statutes, not to mention a minor oath he swore.
But lying about this shit?
That's just trivial. It absolutely undercuts any trust the administration may have left. And frankly, it's kinda disappointing.
Wasting political clout dealing with self inflicted wounds demonstrates, to be kind, poor judgement.

Like UmbrellaGate and the 'Kill Whitey' video?[;)]

So is this new flap somehow connected to Kerry daring to take time from parachuting into Egypt along with Chuck Norris, to put his wife into the hospital?

It was stupid to lie about it but I do have to wonder why anyone was even asking.

Like it or not (and I don't), we live in a world with with round-the-clock "news" outlets looking to fill time with any crap they can rustle up. That creates a market for anyone with a camera and an agenda trying to score points off the other side.

Given that, it's all the more insane for anyone to assume s/he can lie and get away with it. It seems particularly boneheaded for State to do that now. It's not as if the administration lacked threats to its credibility already.

Are you saying that you couldn't exchange the words "Liberal" and "Left" for "conservative" and "Right" and the D for an R?

Moonhead -> RE: The President's always on duty & is always POTUS... But Sec of State? (7/9/2013 2:27:43 PM)

Of course not: that would involve admitting a moral equivalence, wouldn't it? Can't have that...

Is this where you bush voters concede that the shrub off duty half his time in office......playing cowboy in Texas?

Get back to us.

When in uniform or using it as a qualification, yes.

Close enough to "war".

Actually it is about a stupid lie told by a State Department spokesman. We have no idea if Kerry was involved or not unless I missed something coming out.

Chuck Norris served honorably in Korea, sad that you feel the need to denigrate the service of real veterans from behind your keyboard.

I was responding to the person who was denigrating Norris's service and ignoring the denigration as I didn't feel it was worthy of response.

Ok it is about the stupid lie told in Kerry's behalf and we need to know who in the government is that stupidly dishonest.

I have a better question. Who in government is NOT that stupidly dishonest? That way, you can save paper. Probably get all of em on a post-it.
