If the thought of pony play intrigues you and causes your Slickum Factor to ride appreciably, I'd recommend that you visit a tack shop in town and then search out one in the country before you decide on the dressage and equipment that you KNOW will cause you the most pleasure.
  The prices at most country feed.seed.tack/vet and farm supply stores is quite a bit more affordable than that in the fancy downtown shoppes.
   There seems to be at least two craftpersons that have posted here. Let Me suggest the same course of action that, I'm going to follow; I'll communicate with them, hopefully see some images of their work, compare their prices against that of the feed stores and order accordingly.

I have a 100 acre horse farm in Kentucky. Lots of tack, a round pen, dressage ring, automatic walker, a few carts, all the equipment needed. Pony play would feel like going to work for me!

Animalization play has a lot of aspects in common with objectification, but it's not exactly the same sort of headspace.

gear does not have to be expensive. yes it can be, but to just be a pony and be controlled as one allthat takes is a bit of rope or straps.

yes this is the most favorite part I think.  I love being blindfolded while pulling a cart you really have to listen to the rein commands to know exactly what to do.

pony play is getting bigger and bigger. memorial day weekend I was at Camp Crucible where they have over 300 acres of indoor and out door play. pony play is about 20% of all teh activities that go on there. they even take one section of camp and call it pony camp so all pony players can stay together. they set up littl stalls to use and have alot of activities including the pony show on sunday which atracts more than 70% of the people attending just to watch.
everyone should try it just once anyway,

Susan you are right about expense people say it is expensive then go and spend 300 for a single tail where 300 could get a full pony outfit. cost is not the bject to prevent some one from trying as gear can be made up from most anything.
I been doing this for over 30 years. been in many magazines for it even on hbo real sex 28 where they did one on pony play. and I own and opperate the Water Hole Custom Leather Inc.which has been an inovator of most of the styles of gear you see on the market today. been in business since 1992 and making things long before that.

Good to know, thanks for telling me. I am wondering why more people aren't interested - it didn't seem that popular (of course I live in Nebraska) and it's good to know it's getting a bigger fan club. To me there is a huge fantasy aspect to it that just makes it all that more intriguing. Just how weird  (considering how scant the spectrum of what could be construed by some as weird might be, and considering the vast range of possible bdsm activity) can pony play really be considered?
To each his/her own, (again) I guess, is the answer to that...

Whenever I tell someone how I becamse interested in it at all and I say I just stumbled across a website on it (on another bdsm society's site) they laugh, but it's true. I thought it was fascinating (and still do).

I started as a pony many many years ago, back in Europe.  Now thanks to the internet , there seem to be more and more people interested in doing it.    The control and the blind faith is just so delightfull..the other thing is ..to me it seems you can also find more real dom and subs, since sex is no part, unless it is a studding scene.

Unfortunately ...have not found a rider and or other ponys in Cincinnati

I dont do many events out of the tristate area.. ohio, kentucky,indiana.. although I would love to be there

I like it when they are just getting "trained" to get used to things like a bit or a harness. I also like it when their Masters encourage them with a whip or a crop when they are racing their ponies. I also like it when they get paraded in front of people at auctions. I like it all (so far). I really do.

I don't know why some people think pony play is "out there" (I guess I don't have to know). But - I am usually trying to figure out what the term "out there" really means (at least in  my own head). Of course I've always sort of lived in the fourth dimension I guess.

"out there" is when you finaly manage to shock yourself.
