What do you think about the latest FOIA request that says the justice department spents thousands of dollars supporting protests against zimmerman. (including organizing a police escort for a 40 mile trek from delray to sanford...)

Nothing like an unbiased government, eh

mnottertail -> RE: Department of Justice (7/11/2013 2:56:28 PM)

Yeah, not credible in its nutsuckerisms. Who is the author of this article? What are the actual documents?

Impugning and innuendo, no facts or credible citations. Nuitsuckerism. Boortz and Breitbart style asswipe at this point.

Hey Ron. Why does every comment have to contain profanity and hyperbolic assaults?
Just curious...

mnottertail -> RE: Department of Justice (7/11/2013 3:03:58 PM)

Because every comment on the other side constains hyperbolic insults as affronts to intelligence. The swearing? You are on a fuck site, Kana, if you don't want to hear swearing, don't fuck with people who swear.

Why should I suffer fools gladly, repeatedly? Once, but not again, and again, and again, and again....ad nauseam....

Every comment?
Really?
I doubt that my man.

I know it's not true because I've made lots of comments and I avoid hyperbole whenever possible.

ETA-I ask, because they detract from anything reasonable that could be contained within the comments. They make the commenter appear one sided, and attacking, which removes any chance of actual, you know, discussion, and turn things into mudslinging.

And just because one party does it, doesn't mean you gotta. Stooping-it's beneath ya, my man.

mnottertail -> RE: Department of Justice (7/11/2013 3:07:32 PM)

Am I tellling you that you are spouting asswipe, Kana? No, didn't think so. Think about it.

DomKen -> RE: Department of Justice (7/11/2013 3:37:27 PM)

Maybe if the lying scum at judicial watch weren't lying through their teeth this story would have some legs.

The CRS is a small team of lawyers that go out to mediate between protesters and local officials. The team's job is to make sure the protests don't become violent and to make sure local authorities respect the rights of the protesters. The FOIA request that judicial watch is lying about are, based on their own statements about those documents, nothing but this routine behavior.

I was about to make some comments about an apparent fascination with nut sucking but I think Kana managed to ask the appropriate question.

"Organizing" the protests?

I've found the entirety of the media blitz on this case to be beyond repulsive and unworthy of intellectual regard. I find the level of insanity it has created within the general public even worse. It's an all new low.

Edited for clarity.

Im not sure what the complaint is here. Because a government agency sent out people to help the city people are now upset?

How much for a clue... because this lost me.

TheHeretic -> RE: Department of Justice (7/11/2013 6:43:40 PM)

Sadly, this is what I have come to expect from an administration that governs as poorly as this one. The only thing they know is Alinsky-style agitation and campaigning, with zero capability or competence in the actual business of doing something, once in office.

A writer for Judicial Watch is putting forth the notion that the Obama administration used the DOJ to stir the pot of anger in the Martin/Zimmerman case. Ostensibly to turn public opinion against Zimmerman.

I wouldn't expect to get any sort of honest acknowledgement of that.

I understand that is what the writer is trying to insist. Im trying to figure out why. Is it because JW wants to turn the public against Z?

Naaa... he isnt worth it and hasnt been for a long time

Phydeaux -> RE: Department of Justice (7/11/2013 8:18:10 PM)

No taz,

Because the JW writer (as well as others quoted) are trying to say the uneven administration of justice continues. The CRS was formed to mediate disputes not support protests. Not organize police for a 40 mile escort. Not teach protesters how to manage crowds. Not to apply political pressure to get the police chief to resign.

What makes anyone believe they were there to support protests? When they go to the RNC primaries are they there to teach the GOP how to manage crowds, there to insist and pressure the RNC to resign?

Or did no one realize this was the Community Relations Service that was sent?

Some secret, huh?

The Community Relations Service is the Department's "peacemaker" for community conflicts and tensions arising from differences of race, color, and national origin. Created by the Civil Rights Act of 1964, CRS is the only Federal agency dedicated to assist State and local units of government, private and public organizations, and community groups with preventing and resolving racial and ethnic tensions, incidents, and civil disorders, and in restoring racial stability and harmony.

With passage of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, CRS also works with communities to employ strategies to prevent and respond to alleged violent hate crimes committed on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion or disability. CRS facilitates the development of viable, mutual understandings and agreements as alternatives to coercion, violence, or litigation. It also assists communities in developing local mechanisms, conducting training, and other proactive measures to prevent racial/ethnic tension and violent hate crimes committed on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or disability. CRS does not take sides among disputing parties and, in promoting the principles and ideals of non-discrimination, applies skills that allow parties to come to their own agreement. In performing this mission, CRS deploys highly skilled professional conciliators, who are able to assist people of diverse backgrounds.
