In the small town I'm from I'm pretty sure it qualifies for found dead in a ditch. oh crap.. I can't imagine that.. I did not grow up in that kinda place.. I never distrusted cops where I was from, here I do.. all the time, I dislike a cop car driving past me cuz I can feel their eyes on me, assessing if I am some sorta "criminal" or if they have any "cause" to stop me..

I have been followed before and no way would I have gone home.. if the follower is a perv or out to do you harm, the last thing you want is for him to know where you live..

I can't say if I would have done that if it had happened because it never did. If I had been a guy and in decent shape, I probably would have confronted him but I was an idiot back then and thought I was invincible.

If I had been a guy and in decent shape, I probably would have confronted him but I was an idiot back then and thought I was invincible. my first boyfriend (he was 18 & had long hair) and I were driving along and for no reason this redneck pulled his car in front of us, he got out of his car and came up to my boyfriend and reached in to grab him thru the open window.. my boyfriend had his wits about him and he put the car in reverse & stepped on the gas, the redneck was dragged some distance cuz he was hanging onto the car, he finally let go and then we drove across a vacant lot so we got away.. that was only a few blocks from where I lived.. but I was afraid that guy would see me or my boyfriend in the area and try to come after me/us.. Not every kid is confrontational and not every kid gets into trouble cuz of something they did.. Martin was running away from Zimmy & hiding in the bushes.. he told his girlfriend he was afraid of him.. I can understand it if he didnt head home knowing some nutbar with a shaven head was following him for no reason.. I know how scared I was when my boyfriend was stopped and attacked & I was afraid he would find where I lived.. I was glad to move from there..

It would help this thread if more people paid attention to the good posts or fresh views. I liked your comment, and I liked the insightful op Ed in the nyt. Laws won't likely be changed until more senseless murders are committed.

I don't believe there is any significant momentum to change the stand your ground law in florida. nor do I believe that there will be a significant change in the right to bear arms so long as the supreme court composition remains asis. A lot of people.. some silent, some not so silent, think stand your ground is working as designed.

I don't think you're interpretation is how I interpret it. I interpret it as "No sir, I wouldn't be here." Reasonable people seing the same thing and reaching different conclusions.

I would rather they all be honest, and have to redo a trial, than for one voice to be silenced among the rest. I cant say what happened in their jury room, but isnt it better than we have people willing to stand by their verdicts than to be forced to change based upon what others think?

Fox News and co. will have a different slant when a white child is murdered in self defense. This case here does not advance the cause of stand your ground laws. The question is, what will the next case look like, and when will it occur?

Martin is not on trial and nothing except the claim of a proven liar says Martin started the violence. Do try to keep that in mind Zimmerman is on trial not Martin. Self defense and murder are mutually exclusive. This is not the post I intended to respond to.
