I fail to understand why you and 59 can't get it through your head that this isn't a left vs right thing.

Mostly because you, and every other pro-Zimmy poster in here, are part of the CM rightist massive. If this isn't a right/left theft, you guys have done a very good job of making it one.

More lies but then again it's all you have. When I have I ever suggested that I was pro-zimmy? That's right I didn't. But apparently you don't actually read what people write. You assume they hold a view because they are on the other side of the poliitical fence. It's one of the main reasons I can't take you seriously when you post. Now if I were to take a page out of your book that would leave me to believe that every left leaning poster on here lies like you do but I know better than that. The majority of them post honest discussions, maybe you could learn from them.

I think you misunderstood me. I suggested that people would quit calling him a bigot when he quit posting like one on the off chance that being called a bigot bothered him. If he doesn't have a problem with it he can continue and people will continue to consider him one. I personally don't have a problem with calling a bigot a bigot or watching others do the same.

But maybe I can make this easier for you to understand. Bush did a lot of stupid things when he was president. The whole time he was doing it people kept calling him stupid. Now someone could have come along and suggested that he stop doing stupid things and people would stop telling him he is stupid. And he might have listened (I doubt it). And while it is true that the people themselves had control over whether they continued to comment on his stupidity he is still the one who was stupid to begin with. Are you suggesting that Bush is the innocent in this case and the ones who couldn't control themselves and still called him stupid are the wrong ones? Do you honestly think they should have just ignored the stupidity?

Lucylastic -> RE: UNMODERATED ZIMMERMAN (2/11/2014 10:33:23 AM)

I didnt misunderstand you at all, and you know it.
That you cant stop yourself says so much

Do you feel the same way when someone calls out a racist on their bullshit? What about the homophobes? I could sit silently by while Fred Phelps stages his next protest at a funeral but what kind of message would that send? Sorry, if you want to control yourself and stay silent about shit like this it's your choice. Just don't expect me to. If that's a problem for you there is always the hide button.

Lucylastic -> RE: UNMODERATED ZIMMERMAN (2/12/2014 12:01:14 PM)

Fred Phelps doesnt post here, neither do homophobes or racists for very long. OH...why??? Because we have a TOS,
Your stalking certain libs is well known, and you have the choice to stop, only you, yet you are throwing out bullshit that you cant stay silent?

No what is pathetic is you getting your panties in such a wad because I called out someone on a bigoted post. You just can't seem to let it go. But I have to say I appreciate the chuckle.

Oh please.
Who would you rather be allowed to own/carry weapons (pick one);

1. Undiagnosed depressives
2. Depressives treating their depression under a doctor's care
3. No one.

DominantWoman65 -> RE: UNMODERATED ZIMMERMAN (2/15/2014 7:02:57 PM)

My opinion and answers in regards to Zimmerman and his prescription usage to treat his mental stability were discussed a while back. If you want to enter this late in the game then feel free to look up my answers and opinions yourself.

Apparently we can't talk about guns without a segment of our population
referring to all gun owners as cowards and lunatics.
Sad that we have to keep returning to this thread to discuss issues.

TheHeretic -> RE: UNMODERATED ZIMMERMAN (3/2/2014 11:21:51 PM)

Well that, or we are expected to allow the broad brush for one side of an argument, with those who "don't think right" expected to just take the slurs in silence.

I, for one, am not the silent type.

Ted Nugent speaks for himself and no one else.

A few tidbits from Nugent's Wikipedia entry:

-- Nugent currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Rifle Association (NRA).

-- Nugent is a strong and vocal supporter of the U.S. Republican Party and various associated conservative causes, particularly gun rights and hunter's rights.

-- At a 2009 West Virginia rally sponsored in part by Massey Energy, Nugent "defended mountaintop removal mining," according to reporters on the scene. "On behalf of the Nugent family, I say, start up the bulldozers and get me some more coal, Massey," Nugent was recorded as saying.

-- Nugent was initially scheduled to speak at Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally on August 28, 2010, but subsequently cancelled because of a scheduling conflict.

-- At a Republican event in February 2012, Nugent said, "The whole world sucks, but America still sucks less," followed by, "But with this administration, we are catching up."

-- On April 17, 2012 in a Romney stump speech at the 2012 NRA Convention in St. Louis, Nugent said, "If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year." [Promises, promises...]

-- On February 12, 2013, Nugent attended the State of the Union address given by President Obama. He was the guest of U.S. Representative Steve Stockman of Texas's 36th congressional district.[67]A year later, Stockman challenged U.S. Senator John Cornyn in the Texas Republican primary.

Trying to learn more about this sad story, I came across an interesting observation:

"In my personal opinion, I believe that [Hendrix] should have stayed inside the house."

cloudboy -> RE: UNMODERATED ZIMMERMAN (3/3/2014 6:57:13 AM)

The thread got locked. I had not spotted any personal attacks, but I think the gun nuts reported some of my own posting as offensive. One of my conclusions was that the shooters in the recent cases were all cowards and that gun owners are cowards too.

Heretic said that some day "you might be facing the barrel of a gun," as if that's a reason to own a gun. Well, my answer is, I still don't want a gun, and I have huge confidence that I can de escalate a confrontation and end any encounter with no one being shot.

Hillwilliam was making an absurd comparison between his experience after a hurricane and the homeowner in question who shot his victim under no extraordinary circumstances at all.

Next, responders accused me of "not shooting an old man with Alzheimer's" as "hindsight thinking." No, this is just a fact because I don't rely on guns for my protection. Also, I would never use deadly force against against a "perceived threat," I would only use it against an actual threat. If there's some kind of actual threat I would l'd de-escalate it. I have had a guy come at me with a baseball bat, dealt with someone who broke into my home, and been in some skirmishes. A gun in any of those scenarios would have been stupid.

It does not sit well with me that several respondents regarded the shooting as a "clean" and "justified." Owner really had the best retort to that.....

Was happy to see KD, who I think owns a gun , declare this shooting as absolutely wrong.

Last: not one gun nut could respond to the the built in lying that SYG laws will promote in shootings. The shooter of this old man merely claimed the man with dementia "was coming at me" with "what I thought was a gun, but was actually a flashlight." We can now count on every murder to have a similar perceived threat in play. With a dead witness, the shooter can make up any story he wants.

It sounds like the official line any police officer is trained to give after a questionable shooting. When fear adrenaline made an umbrella look like an assault rifle.

The saddest thing about the whole Zimmerman case was the fact that if it had been white man shot by a black man the national news would have ignored it. Ho hum, another instance of gang violence.
