Hello everyone. Just thought I'd introduce myself. I don't have much experience at kink but I'm fairly knowledgeable about most aspects. I guess I have the internet to be thankful for that. I'm mostly just looking for new friends and resources but I am single and not opposed to something more. But I'm careful not to simply "dive right in." Can't be too cautious these days can we? Anyway, I'm trying to do some exploring with the various interests that I'm curious about and I hope that this website has good information available. Since I've started looking into bdsm I've definitely noticed the huge number of websites out there that are more about fantasy than usefulness. It's too bad that I've only just discovered this website otherwise I probably would have been able to save myself a bit of research time. Still, it's good to be here. I've been working either as a repairman or a machinist in a shop for most of my adult life. I've been technical in my industrial careers long enough and I'm now trying to discover my creative/artistic side. Little by little, I'm learning about knifemaking, blacksmithing and jewelry making. I hoping to learn engraving soon as well. And I can't seem to find any leather working instructors nearby! Maybe I'm not looking in the right places.

Welcome to the forums. Greensboro (I double checked to make sure you were referring to NC) has a great community. It shouldn't be too hard for you to find folks who can help you with the leather working. I still have a pair of floggers that I bought when visiting events in that area.

Thank you LadyPact. I appreciate the welcome and I'm looking forward to interacting with people on the forums. You're from Alaska? I've visited Alaska twice for vacations during the summer, once in Ketchikan and the second in Homer. There's such beautiful scenery around there especially around the Kenai Peninsula. Some of my best digital photographs came from there. I've not experienced winters in Alaska yet. I hear that they can be brutal.

:)

I meant to add that my profile photo was taken at Ketchikan.

I'm not from here originally. Just been here the last two years. Before that it was CA and prior to that, GA. Needless to say, I've had chances to get from place to place. Including a few events in your backyard.

Summers here are beautiful, but the winters are horrendous. Much different than the lower 48.

Seems we might have some friends in each other's location.
