Browsing through the profiles of female submissives I seem to find a very large proportion of them state to be lesbians. It makes me wonder if they really are or just are forced into stating this to limit the amount of mail they get from horny net geeks. I just hope this post does not open the floodgates.

No i havent notised an abondent amount of lebian slaves.... I have seen many bi slaves subs and such though.... And I dont think they would say this to not get mail why be here if you dont want mail... and if a Dom messaged me and I said I was a lesbian it would anger me that they handt botherd reading my profile befor messageing me and I wouldant want to talk to them anyway....

The gay/bi/lesbian/trans community members who pioneered the BD/SM scene back when they were finding their way "out of the closet" did very much to open things up for everyone interested in kink.
This does NOT mean a higher % of any of those groups are into BD/SM than there are of any other group of people.
However active folks "in the G/B/L/T scene" are often more open to talk about their interests than are many others.
I must say that as a het guy, some of my very finest and most enjoyable experiences have been times dear Lesbian friends trusted me to teach them domination and also submission, singly or as couples.

it has nothing to do with trying to avoid mail, nor are they faking it. all I think it might be is that in this day and age and also in the BDSM community its not looked down upon like it UNFORTNATLY is sometimes still today in the vanilla life. We bi's and lez can be more open about it here same with other persons of other sexual preferances, its accepted here more so then the "real world". for intance I was looking on another site in which I ran into profiles of girls whom I had went to school with, and they at that time had openly admitted to Me about being either bisexual or lez, but YET in their profiles it stated "straight" when I emailed them about it, they said they were affraid to post it because everyone would see this and attack them for it, however here in the life style you rarely if at all see A/anyone judge A/anyone for their sexuality! This may or may not be the reason, just a possibility IMO. I hope what I've written here does not offend A/anyone, its just IMO a possiblity. and also hope I didn't ramble too much lol... be well A/all

the vanilla world outnumbers the bdsm world 100:1, at least.
in the entire population, heterosexuals outnumber homosexuals again, 10:1 at least

except in the bdsm world, homosexuals outnumber heterosexuals, regardless how you look at it (excluding bi, scoring bi according to some criteria of bi-ness etc)

this clearly proves that homosexuals are more interested in bdsm. end of discussion.

statistics. the only way experts using the same numbers can arrive to wildly different conclusions.

Consider your demographics...

What area are you searching?

If not a particular area, then consider the age group.

From my observations & involvement with the GLBT community, many younger women are experimenting with bisexual & lesbian tendencies because of it being considered trendy & chic.

As far as the lesbians I have encountered in the live groups & settings I have been in... most do not have a clue as to what this "alternate lifestyle" is & what little they know is spanking a butt playfully & mutually or having wrists loosely bound is an act of bondage.

On the flip side... I have met & known large groups of what may be known as "leather dykes" or New Leather (in an old guard style). Still these numbers are extremely small in comparison to the number of vanilla lesbians... even here in sunny South Florida.

Where are you looking at these profiles?

But generally, no, homosexuals do not seem to be into bdsm or Ds at any higher rate than heterosexuals.

A few year ago, I had a condition that precluded me from eating certain things. When the doc told me, I didn't think it was significant. After a few weeks, it seemed that delicious thing I looked at had those things in it.

Moral: We notice what we can't have.... and boy to they look good.

That is wonderful. You go from statisitics to your observation like they are the same thing. They are not and anybody who has been involved in the local community or spent time in gay and lesbian bars knows that gay and lesbians do not outnumber straight people in the lifestyle.

Also while trying to deflate stereotypes, just because a gay or lesbian dresses up in leather or has some chains on them for decoration does not make them BDSM people.

As far as seeing a lot of lesbians on collar me, I agree with John Warren you are just noticing them more. I also think there are many Bi female dominants on the site for the same reason the men on on the site. They may have a male submissive already from being active in their local community but have gone to the Internet to find a female because of the number game.

This is going to be a very personal post. i would not be making it if i did not have real life experience to share. From that, when i see a topic like this, i have to respond. If you're bored already, the answer is no, the ratios in the GLBT community are about the same as us hets. Skip the rest.

The 1990's were an explosive time for hets in BDSM. i spent some of that time with a dear ex in the West Village (Manhattan) and had my eyes and mind opened. [She was giving penises one more chance.] There is not space, nor is it appropriate, to go into all that. After i taught Her how to ride a motorcycle, She went off and joined the Sirens (motorcycle club) and The Lesbian Sex Mafia and that was that (i love that name). Check them out, they have Web sites. What i learned was to appreciate what can be shared. And there is much. my advice to newbie Dominas about boys is, make friends with a gay Master. And vice versa. i still buy all my CBT toys at that gay leather shop on Christopher Street. Who knows better, right? <G>

Through my relationship with Her then, i became involved with the GLBT community in the metro NYC area and saw that, as i said, the ratio of 'regular' to kink was the same.

I don't have much filtering on when I browse this site and frequently see lesbian profiles. I strongly suspect that many of these are men trolling for pictures or just trolling in general. I can't say why that is, but there's just a sense a get. A few of the commonalities of these profiles:

- A picture of a very, very attractive woman that neverthess doesn't seem like a "real" photo, as if it was downloaded from another site or are some type of scanned image but not a picture someone really had taken of themselves.
- Talk about TPE and very extreme BDSM acts, but...
- Generally short profiles that don't say much about the person in general or give any real personality insights
- "NO MEN!!" or some such in all block letters

I'm not saying all profiles that fit this type are men, but I suspect quite a few of them are.
